“I feel that all people should be able to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation.”

You missed the above part of his statement.

You also missed this part the other day, preserved at the top of this article:

A Romney spokeswoman, Andrea Saul, said in an e-mail that this remains Romney's position today.

To the contrary, I read the whole thing.

One just needs to parse the "political-speak".

The important detail here is that he "supports the right of the Boy Scouts to decide".

What he claims to "feel" (and what any politician claims to "feel") while uttering "political-speak" during a campaign is window dressing.

What was quoted to the Romney camp? Was it the part about supporting the Boy Scouts deciding their own rules, disagreeing with their policy or both? See, we don't get a fresh quote here. We're asked to accept the word of the AP (or homosexual bloggers) that they're truthfully representing the Romney campaign.

"Trust but verify" used to be a motto, now it's shoot first and keep shooting in the circular firing squad until Obama wins again.
