Problem is NG is 250% higher cost than coal and that doesn’t count having to build new plants. Coal is a far more efficient source than NG or anything else.

Pray for America

Cost efficient, maybe, but not energy efficient.

Combined Cycle Integrated Gas Turbines are reaching above 60% efficiency.

The average global efficiency of coal-fired plants is currently 28% compared to 45% for the most efficient plants.

“Problem is NG is 250% higher cost”

Actually there is quite the glut of NG. Coal companies are running out of storage place for coal, because they are locked in to coal contracts that will cost them $$ to cancel. Meanwhile they can’t sell the coal generated power because NG plants are undercutting their prices.

I have relatives in SoDak. Last I heard, they were paying around .085/kWh for electricity.

There are also a lot of wind turbines as you drive West on I-90. New huge transmission lines are being installed across Wisconsin to deliver that power to the cities from Madison, WI to Milwaukee and points East.

This is all being fast-tracked by the zer0 administration, according to WI locals who are fighting the transmission towers.

Yes, they admit cost will go up for those who will not receive the power, but who will have the transmission lines going across their property.
