Black Hills Corp. said Monday that its utilities will close some older coal-fired power plants because it would cost too much to bring them in compliance with new federal and state environmental regulations.

Look at a map of natural gas pipelines for the USA. There are lots of them that route across the Midwestern states.
Until they outlaw fracking.
We are fools for allowing the shut down of all these coal plants that make inexpensive electricity.
coal is a mature/stable priced energy source perfectly suited for electrical generation. We should be building more plants.
NG and awl has been the major source of income for my family since the mid 1930’s and mark my words, we will rue the day we shut the coal plants down.
There is already evidence the NG industry is doing everything it can to drive up the price; shutting in wells, reducing drilling programs, preparing export operations. What will be the price of a KW hour when NG gets to $18.00/1000 cuft? Are we willing to pay 50 cents per KWH to heat our homes?
We should use our coal for electricity while retooling the nuclear. Save NG for home and transportation. (sheese, I never though I would agree with T. Boone)
They won ‘t report it as long as obama is in office. We will be told it is global social justice and glorified as the new standard of living. If Romney wins it will be reported as his fault.
and the coal miners union says, WHAT?
They can always burn bison pies.
To the best of my knowledge, the UMW is supporting OBAMA in 2012. I cannot imagine the UMW supporting ROMNEY.
