I was workign in Charlotte. I had to book a hotel there every week, so we would book 2 months in advance to get the cheapest airline prices and hotel rates
Before, there was NOTHING available there for the DNC convention week- so we had planned on going to CA that week- but lately some rooms have been opening up, and the prices are coming WAY down. The fact that it will NOT be jam packed (this is the superbowl of politcs, after all) says a LOT

Yes, it's Bank of America Stadium. Note that the article didn't mention its name. The Obama campaign is referring to it as "Panthers Stadium" -- I guess they'd rather reference a bad football team than a big bank.
Obama's speech won't be the first losing performance in that stadium, that's for sure.
