I don't understand the Huckabee pick. It must be to assuage evangelicals.

McCain is an odd choice. Do failed nominees usually get big speaking engagements at the next convention?

It really is OBVIOUS.

“The Massachusetts Republican Party died last Tuesday.
The cause of death: failed leadership.

The party is survived by a few leftover legislators
and a handful of county officials and grassroots activists
who have been ignored for years.
Services will be public and a mass exodus of taxpayers will follow.
In lieu of flowers, send messages to Republican voters
warning them about a certain presidential candidate named Romney.”
- Boston Herald, 11/12/2006

"In 2006, while Romney was chairman of the National Republican
Governors Association - a group dedicated to electing more
Republican governors - his own hand-picked Republican successor
as governor lost badly to the Democrat, despite the fact that Republicans
have held the governorship in Massachusetts since 1990. Romney largely
ignored the Massachusetts elections and spent most of the time
during the campaign out of state building his presidential campaign.
He came back and publicly campaigned for the Republican candidate
the day before the general election!
“Locally, this is a rebuke to Mitt Romney and checking out within six months
after being elected and having accomplished almost nothing,”

[Jim] Rappaport [former chairman of the state Republican Party]."
- Boston Globe, 11/8/2006

"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

--  President Ronald Reagan

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

--  President Ronald Reagan

Rice’s speech will be titled “Why I May Not Vote For Obama Again”

NOT funny and based on nothing but sick racist drivel and innuendo.

I became a Republican at age 21 in 1979. When asked, I now
self-identfy as a conservative. It’s so embarrassing now to
think about being called a Republican.

Enjoy your snoozefest RNC. Perhaps I’ll watch a Youtube
vid of Sarah Palin’s speech at the convention in 2008.

And I’ll decide on election day about voting.

And I’ll decide on election day about voting.

You need to vote. I've made no secret of the fact that I won't vote for Romney but downticket is absolutely vital. We need conservatives everywhere, not simply in the White House. We know Romney isn't acceptable but everywhere, from our schoolboards to our statehouses to Congress, the Tea Party tide needs to roll again.

Left out are some people who will obviously be there, such as Christie and Rubio.

I understand Christie will be the keynote speaker, so says foxnews. Haven't heard anything about Rubio but I suspect if he isn't the VP nominee he will certainly play a huge role.

I think it will be Paul Ryan. Just gut instinct. He’s likable.

This Reince ‘and repeat’ Priebus is an absolute moron.
_____________________________________________________________

I don’t particularly care for this segment of speakers, but, there will be a gazillion of ‘em during the 4-day convention. Priebus is NOT a freakin’ moron. He’s gutsy and has b**ls; something few Republicans have. He took on Harry Reid this week and called him a “dirty liar”. Not only did he NOT back down, but he said: “I’ll ‘triple down’ on what I said about Harry Reid.”

EVERYBODY NEEDS TO FREAKIN’ CHILL OUT.... This is a 4-day Convention. There will be many, many, many speakers; each given about 10-15 minutes to speak. Sooner or later, one of your favorites will step on the podium. Just freakin’ chill folks.

I will continue to pray for a good filibuster from the conservatives on the floor.

They now are officially the Rino McCain party to me!
They con and use us to get our votes. I guess Christie will bring cheeseburgers and a diet coke along ...as McCain sits off doing his backwards jokes to impress his pals. Huck eating chicken out of a bag. Rice speaking highly of her former boss who is nowhere around-our former president. Romney will appear on Reagan's horse. They will show him as the savior for the nation and wipe clean his liberal policies and making him out to be Reagan's best friend. People will be fainting at home .....

No Sarah Palin after she has endorsed and supported 5/5 GOP wins in early Senate elections. No speaking spot?

The GOP is rotten to its core with the insidious plague of liberalism and its associated evolution towards fascism. The GOP needs to be reformed or destroyed IMHO, get BACK to constitutional principles!

They do not want a populist floor vote to put Sarah Palin on the ticket. MITT IS AFRAID!!!!!!! GENUINELY AFRAID of Sarah Palin.

I say break them like the whining porcine whackadoodles they are.
