Well they’re Amish after all. You can’t just arrest them. :)

Since government cannot or will not act to suppress this type of crime might I suggest that people consider Vigilance Committees.

A small can of pepper spray would go a long ways in this type of situation.

“After reviewing the surveillance video, the Baltimore City States Attorneys office opted not to pursue criminal charges in the case saying not every conflict warrants them.”
I think I see half the problem here. The other half, family instilled values, is beyond any cure in this generation and likely the generation to come.

I know in California the retailer must pay the sales tax on stolen merchandise The writer at the link below disagrees. I always expect the worst from CA government & am rarely disappointed. But in this case, have you got anything that can verify what you said?

Flash mobs have become the new form of rioting — call it “cold rioting” as distinguished from “hot rioting” (a la Rodney King).
Considering from whom this behavior emanates, it’s not unusual. What’s interesting is that it took them so long to think of it — guess we have the internet and social networking to thank for that. Apparently this is a dark side of social networking that no one could have foreseen.
As I said above, not-unexpected behavior. But what IS dismaying is the response of those who are charged to uphold the law:
“After reviewing the surveillance video, the Baltimore City States Attorneys office opted not to pursue criminal charges in the case saying not every conflict warrants them.”
What they are REALLY saying is that if you’re not of the flashmobbin’ persuasion, you have but two options as a victim:
- take it, or...
- leave.
Perhaps there is the “third option” of fighting back or even vigilantism, but those same folks in the district attorney’s office who would do nothing to prosecute the vermin in these escapades would throw every ounce of the law against anyone who dared fight back.
I sense that many Euro-Americans are just goin’ to be “leavin’ it behind”.
Not many flash mobs goin’ on where there are no concentrations of “flashmobbin’ Amish”...

Do RICO laws apply? Sounds like organized crime to me!
Any prosecutor who wanted could prosecute flash mobs as “conspiracy” (a felony) in addition to all the other crimes involved. They’d be smart to limit it to anyone who spread the word in social media, but could get everyone who responded to the plan.

They need to arrest anyone in groups of 4 or more.Only if they're meeting for prayer at somebody's house.

Tolerance Sucks Rocks
(Obama should change his campaign slogan to "Yes, we am!" Sounds as stupid as his administration is.)
Maryland hides it's true crime statistics. They need the revenue generated by tourists visiting the Inner Harbor where thugs rob and run rampant every night. As it is, people aren't going to the Inner Harbor or staying in the hotels. Loss of revenue. Thugs also use the Light Rail to hit the malls in droves in Baltimore County. Tihieves unite ! Hence, many shoppers don't go to the malls. More lost revenue. Raise taxes like it's a Progressive Christmas. Flush tax ? So the smart one's move to Virginia but most likely carry the practice with them. Watch Virginia decline. One of the funniest laws in Maryland : You may not curse inside the city limits.

From Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sales_tax): "In California, sales taxes are made up of various state, county and city taxes. The state tax is "imposed upon all retailers" for the "privilege of selling tangible personal property at retail." [22] Strictly speaking,
only the retailer is responsible for the payment of the tax; when a retailer adds this tax to the purchase price, the consumer is merely reimbursing the retailer by contractual agreement."
The trick used is in enforcement, the state compares sales to received merchandise minus inventory, and simply claims the merchant owes $X in taxes on unreported cash sales, and bills the merchant accordingly. They will collect unless the merchant appears at audit with their tax lawyer and has complete records proving the theft took place.
At best, the merchant pays whopping legal fees. With any discrepancy in records, he pays the tax, penalties, fines and interest as well.
Tell me you didn't expect the DemoRat California State government to be honest, ethical or fair,.... please!

Lock them in from an enclosed, protected space where the staff can gather until the cops come and round them up.
Also there should be SERIOUS time for racial intimidation and rioting. It is a worse crime than singleton theft.
