And if McCain hadn’t picked Sarah he would have gone down to an even more humiliating defeat. The only reason he got as many votes as he did was because of Palin.

Exactly. Palin was the only thing that gave McCain a fighting chance against the Bush legacy in 2008, but he managed to squander it.

The GOP-E just cannot stand the notion that they bear the blame for Obama's election. So they demonize Palin, even though she is at the forefront of the Tea Party movement that brought the GOP back in 2010.

I agree; but that says more about McCain's weakness that Palin's strength.

The Cult of Palin cannot understand that a national ticket must have broad appeal. Palin excited the hard right - but, she amused or scared the mushy middle. And the mushy middle is who decides elections.

What is amazing to me is that the GOP-e stedfastly ignore that. I suspect they do know it, but are in denial. ‘08 was the last time I voted for a candidate who was “better than the other guy”. They haven’t heard that message yet.

True, although I don't think Cheney was saying that. In commenting that she was an attractive candidate, he was acknowledging that she was pulling in voters. That does not mean she was ready to be CIC in his mind.

Exactly: {Palin carried that POS McCain.

He wouldn’t have gotten half as many votes as he got without her.

The mistake was in not picking her for President.

Cheney is full of chit on this one.

The mistake this year was in not running Bolton for President instead of the Mass. Liberal rich kid Romney.
Unfortunately republican picks come from a pack of RINO’s and not the rank and file republican.

McCain was a lousy candidate and any candidate who say’s we have nothing to fear by voting for his opponent, is an idiot of the first water.

I know that I had to hold my nose to vote for McPain and it would have been even more distasteful if not for Sarah Palin as his running mate. McCain is just one more reason for my becoming a TEA party independent. RINO’s are just a degree worse than democRAT politicians. Where are our statesmen????

Right you are sky Dancer...
I am one of those who voted Republican due to SARAH PALIN..
AND I WOULD SUPPORT HER RIGHT NOW OVER ALL OF THEM...

I've always like and appreciated Dick Cheney and have lifted many prayers up for him...but this comment was foolish and a mistake...he will loose supporters over this..sad...

But she has delivered more for the GOP to date than many other “ well experienced” alternatives
