Watching the start of the Olympics in London......Anyone else?
Actually passed judgement after viewing a 30 second summary of the entire show.

30 seconds?. Honey, I wouldnt openly boast about such small minded, snap and kneejerk judgements.
(Why is the only people whining about the show are Americans?. Perhaps we should lease out all future ceremonies to Disney and be done with it. As clearly you lot seem to be miffed the show wasnt done by you, and that you couldnt understand some of it. One gets the impression that some Americans here and elsewhere wont be happy unless they are watching an American olympics....)
What about the portrayal of the transition from the agrarian to the industrial age? Great Britain was presented as a lush, green, veritable Garden of Eden until the evil profiteers showed up and stripped the land, and enslavied the people? I am surprised that the only mentions of that I have seen here are about “Abe Lincoln lookalikes” when it those Abes are obviously meant to be nasty Capitalists. That to me was at least as bad as the socialized medicine tribute.

I seem to recall the 1996 Opening Ceremonies in Atlanta were very politically correct.
