So I guess that was the other Germany that fought in WWI :) Yeah no mention of the British Empire or the vast scientific knowledge that came out of the UK from the late 1600s onward. Too bad they should have played that up. Science isn’t cool I guess?

I didn’t get to see the very start, but I’m assuming they were sort of showing “British” history up until (allegedly) WWI era in the big show at 1st. They were definitely playing up the very visual technological progress - although I suppose (I couldn’t really tell just looking at it - Costas told me) tempered with “comes at a cost”.
I thought it was brilliant.

LOL! My comment when they repeatedly showed the queen after her overblown entry was that she looked totally pissed, like “get these F’n people out of my country!” Definitely not a happy camper for some reason. Probably cause she knew the opening ceremonies were going to be hard left claptrap, peppered with teen garbage. Plus, U.S. viewers were treated to lively and stimulating commentary by Matt “human rat bastard” Lauer.
