Actually I think the opposite was proven. The Muslim Jihadist murderer purchased and used SS192 (hollow point) and SS197SR (polymer sporting tip) ammo. Both types are specifically designed to minimize risk of over penetration and ricochet. Some of the first news reports were wrong (as usual) and assumed the murderer was using the 5.7 rounds designed to penetrate body armor (now banned) which turned out not to be the case. Over 200 rounds were fired and I think there were 54 casualties total.

According the FBI, of the 199 homicides recorded in Alabama in 2010

My jaw drops.

Chicago alone, the gun control paradise, had almost that many, for the first 6 months of this year.

Given that the AR platform has remained relatively unchanged for more than 50 years, my preference is to call it the “American Rifle”. :)

In Korea the M-1 Garand had a “clip”, the M-1 and M-2 and M-1A3 carbines had “15” and “30” round “clips” and sometimes we “taped” em’ together. So too with the “grease gun” or “Riesling” gun, I never heard “magazine” unless it was “Life” or “Look”. And the “Thompson”, .45, it had a “drum” or a “clip”, the “Burp” guns had “drums”. I think you should be more concerned about “an Anger Management Course” and I'd hate to be your wife....

dad hated the Reising gun.....POS he called it.

traded it in on the ‘Canal’ for the enemic, though reliable M1 Carbine....and against the lightweight Japanese dressed for the tropics...it worked just fine.

it was in Korea that the ‘car-bean’ really showed its weaknesses....I love mine...lots of fun to shoot.

I qualified with AR15 in 1964. Now this was the Air Force but it was a full auto and not known as the M16.

My rifle in Army basic was also an AR15.

In your experience, what’s the smallest grain .308/7.62 bullet that a 1/10 twist AR-10 barrel will stabilize? I’ve see all kinds of claims in various internet formus.

One of the tenants of the UN Arms control act is that ALL surplus weapons will be destroyed rather than sold on the open market. Right now, buckwheat will not release the M-1s and the M-1 carbines that Korea wants to return to us. Insanity. Almost as bad as watching my MC issued National Match M-1 destroyed when our rifle team was issued the NM M-14, in spite of everyone on the team requesting to purchase the M-1 for our own use. I did manage to “liberate” some of the 17,000 30-06 NM rds that was also slated for the destruct pit.

“..and the difference would be??...”

A ten-round stripper “clip” fits in a stripper clip guide, which you attach to load a magazine, which, when loaded, goes in the rifle and feeds it.

The last American rifle which used a “clip” was the M1 Garand - 8-round en bloc, ejecting clip.

They’re not the same thing.

That picture chokes me up every time I see it. What was her crime anyway? You can never tell with the ChiComs.

"AR-15" is copyrighted by Colt.

I have an AR-15 sitting in my safe (AR-15A2, to be precise).

Hey Travis...

Blood boiling anger whenever I see this pic and others like it.

You wonder to yourself what possible harm a pony-tailed young girl could possibly be to the all-powerful, all-benevolent, all-loving Utopian Paradise State...

She probably dared to think for herself in liberal paradise, and paid for it with her life.

My guess is, in reality, it was probably an execution of some of the people who had been rounded up protesting in Tienanmen Square. She’s not wearing prisoner garb, so she’s not just pulled out of a jail cell.

The dirt wall in front of her and to her right, is probably lined with similar innocent people being butchered by the Chinese liberals, err, communists.

F***ing animals... remember that ultimately, this is what the left wants in OUR country.

Imagine if this young woman and thousands like her had access to an AR15 - or even one of those AK47s.

Who’d be the mf’ers up against the wall then?

Molon labe. NEVER give up your guns.

By the way - my answer in post #92 was NOT meant to be condescending in any way, and if it came off that way, my bad.

Merely answering the question of what the difference was.

The ChiCom apologists say she was smuggling drugs.

But they probably say that about anybody they execute, if they are pressed.

Any Senator who votes for the UN gun control treaty will be tattooing a giant TRAITOR across their faces, in the eyes of 100s of millions of Americans.

I sure do hope that they understand that.
