Really? He doesn't know about back ground check laws that are now in place? And how does a reputable gun-seller know if a person is "mentally unbalanced" while going through the waiting period? I guess they should read minds?
If he/she does not have a felony or domestic abuse flag, how would ANYONE know some sicko is going to do this? The man is completely ignorant of the FBI laws and doesn't realize there will always be crazies and that NO ONE will ever see them coming. There is no stopping the crazies...they will always be with us.
Better that ALL we good citizens are armed and ready to take down the crazies. Unfortunately, from what I've read with Holmes' tear gas and/or flash/bang bombs, there was probably no stopping him even if a couple of patrons were armed. It was chaos, confusion, panic, as he sprayed them. Tough for even a SpecOp guy to target with all the smoke. It's just one of those awful things that happen.
Solution: Allow everyone to carry everywhere. That will make the crazies think twice. The Bloomberg gun-grabber types that want to limit self-defense weapons never realize that if the entire US made ALL guns illegal tomorrow there would still be millions of weapons and billions of ammo available to the crazies. They never address the point that it would take a century of more to completely get rid of guns, if ever.
More importantly, they never address the statistics of communities that are armed are less dangerous, and that their wonderful utopian cities of NY, Chicago, Philly, Detroit areas are THE most dangerous cities in the country because the gangsters are using ill-gotten weapons. Has no one ever heard of a black market .38 special or 9mm? Obama and his ilk are beyond stupid. Guns exist and always will no matter what they try. Even if not sold in the USA, the black market will fill the void.
