Take away guns and crazed fools like this one in Colorado will build bombs. In fact this man had the bomb making tools he needed to make one.

You can restrict weapons to only people with no police record. This kid would have still gotten his weapons.
You can restrict everyone to one weapon only. This kid would have bought his weapon and enough clips, to continue firing, while reloading.
You can restrict ammo purchases to 100 rounds a month. The kid would have patiently bought 100 rounds each month for eighteen months, and had more than enough ammo to do his damage.
You can restrict weapons entirely, and the kid would have bought the ingredients to build a bomb from his local farm store, the drug store, or the grocery.
There’s only one law that could have prevented this tragedy, a law that would have guaranteed the rights of law abiding citizens to carry a ccw in the theater despite some stinking god damned sign posted on the front door that says otherwise. America has gone to hell. No law will protect you. People are eating each other. On a daliy basis, people are perpetrating vile acts of malice too heinous to describe. The streets of our cities are completely unsafe. More people were murdered in Chicago in the past 10 years than were killed in Afghanistan during the same period and Chicago has some of the strictest antigun laws in the country. Laws can not protect you or your family, only you can and if you don’t, that’s on you. As I type this, a .357 rests on my hip as it always does. If this SOB had gone off in my presence, tragedy would have been averted.
When guns are outlawed only Eric Holder and his drug dealing South-of-the-Border outlaws will have guns.
The gunman is a registered Democrat! The lefties screaming about guns don’t seem to understand that Colorado’s laws allow gun purchases and that if Coloradans were so “gun happy” (as one moron wrote) then the entire theater would have risen up and shot the monster to death. He was the only one sneaking into the theater with guns. He’s a deranged murderer trying to become the center of the attention. That was his reasoning, look at me, pay attention to me. Even his own mother knew that her son was capable of such an act, she wasn’t surprised. Sadly, no one tried to find “help” for him. I doubt any mental health professional could have prevented these murders. Are there laws that his parents could have used to have him “committed” to an institution or even evaluated as a very dangerous person? Banning guns seems to be the only answer for the lefties, what a farce!
Notice the frequent reminders of the massacre at Columbine High School. One other commonality is that in both cases, bombs and/or destructive devices were left behind as part of the plan and in both cases the media focused on refining laws that prohibited possession of firearms and paid no attention to laws prohibiting destructive devices.
Another commonality is the so-called “assault weapon” ban. Advocates of that law jumped into high gear in the wake of the Columbine massacre, but a bit of fact checking would show that only two of the several weapons used in that killing would have been affected by the ban, putting aside how many other laws failed to protect those victims.
In the case of the Aurora massacre, of the three firearms used, only one was covered by the ban, and it is easily modified to comply with the ban.
But such trivialities has never stopped those who have other agendas from using mass murders as the basis to advance their cause.
The bodies are not even cold and the usual suspects are calling for gun-control. It is so completely predictable just as night follows day.

As we heard, last evening, this deranged sociopath (the shooter, not Lautenberg) did NOT acquire his weapons at gun shows via illicit sales. He purchased them legally, at established retail outlets in Colorado.
And ‘high capacity’ magazines just mean more mag changes. In an enclosed setting, in a commercial venue that prohibits firearms on its premises, what was to stop this vicious attack?
And, now instead of addressing the issue, the natural tendency of the progressives is to add more and more restrictions, more and more regulation.
Sorry, I ain’t buyin’ it. An armed society is a polite society, after all. And, one or two armed CCL holders in the audience may have been able to shut this guy down before he shot 50+ people...
Guns were already completely, totally, 100% banned to citizens within the theater. Why isn’t this good enough?
