It turns out that Holmes, who has roots in San Diego, was student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora. He was in the process of withdrawing at the time of the shooting, university officials said. He was a doctoral student in the neuroscience program.
A college syllabus that lists Holmes as a student shows that he may have taken a class in which he studied topics as diverse as substance abuse, schizophrenia, depression and other disorders.

Geez a violent movie that has an OWS plot theme and who would think this might be a tipping point for an OWS crazy? But if it does come out that he was more engaged than Loughner in D party politics we won’t here a peep.
I think it is possible for someone to spend TOO MUCH TIME on a “college” campus before being reprogrammed back to a normal human being. JMO.
So, his edumacation was in essence self-exploratory. This is not uncommon and I suspected as much when I read the Neuroscience PhD student reference.
Would like to hear confirmation or the discrediting of the OWS connection one way or the other.
Your comment might be relevant if there was any actual evidence that Holmes had anything to do with OWS, which there isn’t.
It’s beyond me why people continue to put that link out there. Haven’t any of you even read it? There is *NOTHING* there connecting him to OWS. Good God ...
So I guess the sequence is something like this:
Blame it on the TEA Party until evidence develops that he’s a left-winger. At that point, concentrate on his psychiatric issues and build the case that he’s a whack job.
Of course that opens up the issue of “how did he get the guns,” but we all know how we’ll take care of that one.

Can’t even tell you how many times I looked at that site trying to figure out where the OWS connection was. Just absolutely stupid.
Whatever political camp this mutant identifies, we should do to him what the Romans did: Tie him up on a cross in a hot desert and let him die slowly with birds picking him apart.
See, Holmes wore a gas mask, and there's a picture on the site of someone in a gas mask, and then there are other pictures of OWS people.
Clearly, that is proof that Holmes is in OWS.
Why not just blame it on him?
Surely you're not suggesting that a private investigator who lives a couple thousand miles away, appears to make his living catching cheating spouses, and never met Holmes might be jumping the gun just a wee bit?

I'm going to remember this when he is found not guilty by reason of insanity.
Make of it what you will but here is a guy that resembles Holmes at an Occupy San Diego (Holmes’s home town) event wearing all black clothes and a bulletproof vest. Check the 23 second mark. Could be coincidence of course.
