Sounds like a really well planned attack. Body armor, gasmasks and teargas. Plus maybe secondary devices in the parking lot, maybe to kill first responders.

a 20 yr old male shooter has been nabbed .....killer had 3 weapons a rifle 2 handguns wore bulletproof vest 343 am kdvr aurora, col. crowd control cops on the scene were already doing crowd control...when it happened ...there are 16 separate theaters in the movie theater complex....shooter used tear gas...14 dead 37 injured.....aurora top cop says 10 victims died at scene others died at the hospital....rounds pierced walls of adjacent theaters...

Incident occurred in theater No. 9.
Incident started during an action sequence.
Three weapons involved, one possibly stashed beforehand by gunman. Pistol, long gun, and one other weapon.
Some type of gas released, then gunman with a gas mask and body armor opened fire, from front of theater. People were choking on gas, pandemonium as people were realizing what was really happening.
Police were on scene to provide crowd control becasue of heavy crowds for midnight showing of Batman movie at Century 15 theaters in Aurora, CO.
Police took down suspect at his vehicle. Suspect is 24 years old, from north Aurora. Car has Tenn. license plates.
Suspect said he had an incendiary device in his car—that was recovered. His apartment now being searched and people nearby evacuated for their safety.
14 dead, 50 injured/wounded.
Three meedical centers involved in treating victims, foremost being Swedish Medical Center in Aurora.
Once again 2nd amendment unconstitutional infringement allows 14 more people to be assassinated like fish in a barrel. We live in scary times; A lot of lunatics out there, a lot of religion of peace adherents, and the government insists we go out there armed only with spit.

I’m not even going to get into the politics of the shooter/movie/etc. - this is just plain heinous.
According to local channel 9, one 3-month old child being treated at hospital for gunshot wounds, also some people being treated for chemical exposure.
Around the net the gun-grabber *$$w*pes are already trying to take advantage. We need to be prepared to go on the offensive.
There’s something a little weird about the killed/wounded ratio: in any large-scale gun violence it’s usually about 1:4, not 1:1.4 as here. Could there be some factor in play that hasn’t been reported yet?

Perp had on him 2 long guns, hand gun
Tennessee license plates on his car, but he was living in the Aurora area
Not releasing name until the name perp gave if verified.

Reporters on KUSA and CBSDenver are reporting questioningly the FBI’s assertion that this is a ‘no terrorism’ event.
FBI/Police report singular perp.
Both stations raise the question: Who opened the theater door to allow the perp in then? Perp was armed with 3 weapons and tear gas canisters. Perp came in through EXIT door behind movie screen.

Earlier reports indicated that perp might have booby-trapped his apartment and he may have had explosives in his apartment, so the window entry is a security precaution.
