McCarthy was an American hero, and someday, if this country can reverse course towards hell, he should be recognized as such.
He surrendered his reputation, his health, and eventually, his life in defense of his country, virtually alone.
He made it disreputable to be a communist, and that bought the United States of America a few more decades.
In light of what the USA is today, that’s the plain truth. The deeper this country slides, the more people will see it and say it.
