Sad, and scary. An excellent comment on your part, Road G. This somehow reminds me of the situation for a couple of decades before the Civil War. The South new that they were going to be ramrodded if the new states came in against them. So they wanted out. Of course that didn’t work out too well for them. And what is it that can work for us now in the face of this demographic scourge?

Well said. It is inevitable.

I'm amazed Obama said this before the election.

So many Republicans and Conservatives - even here at Free Republic - are in absolute denial about the political impact of new immigrant citizens.

New citizen voter turnout is quite low, but they vote 80% for the Democrat Party.

President Obama revved up Democrats in the traditionally red state by telling them he sees shades of purple in Texas that might ultimately turn blue down the line.

He needs to stay off the opiates.

Those anchor babies are already a factor in the northeast, where Hispanics are displacing blacks as the pillar of Democrat voting strength. More babies, and a continued influx (with no end in sight) - more than enough to offset black population growth (which has fallen dramatically since the 1996 welfare reform).

The founders included property and literacy requirements to insure that outright redistribution of income wasn’t the result. That’s a big problem with democracy. We better figure out how to stop the low income illegal immigrant class from gaining control, or this country is done

100% Correct, the Founders wanted people who had a stake in the future of the country, not those who saw it as an unlimited Charity.

So only those who contributed got to vote on how the money was spent, a very good system.

But that is not Democracy, that is Liberty, Democracy is another name for Kelptocracy.

So be for Liberty, not Democracy.

FReeper Road Glide wrote some very good stuff there in #34 IIRC...

I would like to add that since in this last election cycle, both the democratsand the GOP elitists in our leadership have give Texas a back burner role in this election...

By the delays in holding the primaries, the precinct/senatorial(county) and the state convention process, nothing was established, nothing was resolved, the state was basically designed to be given to Romney, in the only way he was going to get it...But even then he only got 88 out of the 155 delegates, if I heard correctly...So that is nowhere near a mandate...

So with what we have left, it doesn’t surprise me that some folks are saying that Texas is becoming a battleground state...

Those very people need to be warned to be careful what they wish for...

Needless to say I am not impressed with the direction this state is going...

Mark Steyn has written about this as nothing less than a threat to the legacy of Christian Western Civilization built up over centuries.

Race War?

Already WELL under way, with only the “persons of color” side using live ammunition......

Maybe, but the numbers don’t lie. Democrats always win the black and Hispanic vote in Texas. Maybe by not as large a margin as elsehwere (at least with latinos), but it’s still a growing problem for the GOP.
