I think the odds are very much against this eventuality -- but I'm willing to bet that Palin will have a speech in her pocket which begins, "Thank you for this very unexpected nomination ..."
Aside from that one particular speech, I think the establishment will make sure that she has no other occasion to make a splash.

I’d like to officially go on record as STRONGLY discouraging the GOP from cutting back at all, on Palin’s time.
In fact, I would strongly, strongly encourage Romney to maximize his Palin time, and even nominate Palin as his VP.
Yes I mean that. Go Palin.
