I always wondered why actors would leave a popular show and their careers tanked afterwards. I think it’s safe to assume that these “right-of-center” actors have been blackballed - wish they would come out and name names (Larry Linville is dead now, but there are others who know what’s going on). Mike Farrell is one of the worst, and there are many more doing the bidding of the Enemies of America.

Farrell was also a big fan of that murderer Tookie. I was delighted the day we gave him the needle; Farrell cried.

I always thought it was Alan Alda that destroyed MASH. Farrell was an afterthought with me.

I try to avoid patronizing anything with either of them in it.

Fortunately, neither are in very many "must see" vehicles.

Farrell has a long history of being one of Hollyweird’s most extreme leftists, constantly slamming America and siding with communists, no matter what the issue. Even worse (believe it or not) than most of the common lefty scumbags that usually get cited nowadays.

I remember Farrell in the 80s supporting every Leftwing Loon cause out there, including the Sandanistas and Cuba. He was always extreme. His joining MASH was around the time that it really started going downhill. No comedy, no conflict — everyone was friends at that point. And it turned into a weekly sermon about whatever the Leftwing cause of the day was.

“Release them because they came here only to monitor the activities of violent Cuban exiles who, operating from bases in Miami of which our government is well aware, were planning violent actions against innocent people in Cuba. Release them because they were trying to prevent more brutal acts against their country and save innocent lives.”

I wonder what "Captain BJ" would say if it were revealed that Augusto Pinochet sent agents to the US to monitor the actions of Chilean refugees?.

I knew Alda was a liberal and could get preachy but for some reason, I never disliked him and if I see something he did on TV, I watch it. I love his performance in Crimes & Misdemeanors. I liked Four Seasons. Farrell, on the other hand, seemed like an Angry Leftist from Day 1, I remember seeing him on TV at political rallies in the 80s and thinking, “this guy is a Communist.”

I can't watch MASH for even a few minutes without thinking of the hundreds of thousands in NK death camps, the millions who have starved, and the prosperity of SK.

Time has a way of proving the idiocy Leftist propaganda. Sadly, all of this was already known when MASH was being produced.

Farrell was (and is) always whining about the death penalty earned by vicious killers, but offered no support for Terry Schiavo.

There are hypocrites, and then there’s Farrell.

When Wayne Rogers left the show, Alda took complete control and with Farrell to egg him on, it became a boring weekly sermon on the evils of war and American culture. There were still some funny episodes, but they became fewer and the show became too preachy.

There was a significant drop off from Trapper to BJ in my opinion; however, Alda’s increasing liberal influence was shown as the series aged.

He is also a regular on one of the Fox News Saturday morning business programs. I don’t remember which one though

Mike Farrell has always been the poster boy for the contention that Liberalsim is Indeed a Mental Disease.

"destroyed"

Well, MASH simply outlived its ability to come up with believable story lines. Most series are like that. After about five years, virtually every sitcom or drama becomes stale. MASH was no different. It always was a little preachy, but the writing overcame the preachiness. When Wayne Rogers left, the series went downhill fast.

When I read the title I knew too who Fontova was talking about. The second sentence in the first paragraph confirmed it

The show lasted three times as long as the Korean War.

He would blame Nixon since Pinochet gained power with the help of Nixon.

Arnold Nachmanoff, party dude with Obama , Sr in Hawaii, was involved in all of that with Kissinger. When the 40 Committee was asked their opinions, Arnie said he though we should give 700,000 of our money (which later turned out to be much more) to help shore up a Newspaper there but make it a condition the paper would launch an attack on Allende.

Fortunately Mike Farrell is about as relevant as that Stalinist, Ed Asner.
