The guy has zero college and walks out of high school and is making 90-grand," said a Williston, N.D., teacher with a master's degree, speaking to The Associated Press about a former student who's working in the Oil Patch.

"To me, that seems to be an injustice."

Say what? Neither justice nor a degree entitles a person to a higher income. That's one of the fundamental truths of the labor market, and people in Williston and elsewhere should understand why.

And test scores will drop, but your property taxes will still go up to pay for the latest school levy and pension increase.

And I still wouldn't be able to get a darned pencil sharpener for my classroom.

If that teacher wants to make $90k, then he should go work in the oil fields.
