Obama would have had to naturalize after 1971.
Without a doubt he WAS a Indonesia citizen.
His mother became a Indonesia citizen after her marriage to Lolo.

Without a doubt - when in Indonesia - this family was 100% Indonesian. How the US would have viewed SAD and baby Obama from a US citizenship perspective may be better answered by others.
But between March 1966 and 1971 this family was Indonesian.
It's a good bet that's what Zippo is hiding with his school records. He said he was a foreign student. He probably thought he was just pulling a fast one over on the school, but in reality he renounced his citizenship.
When arriving at a border controlled facility, only foreign children, unaccompanied by a custodial adult, are taken into Federal protective custody.
We know Obama was deemed a foreigner in 1971 because he was taken into Federal protective custody when he arrived as an unaccompanied minor in Hawaii. Catholic Social Services of Connecticut was appointed his legal custodian from 1971 until he turned 18 in 1979.
It was Catholic Social Services of CT that applied for Obama’s SSN; thus, a Connecticut SSN prefix. It was after Obama reached the age of majority that Stanley Ann Dunham-Soetoro claimed she and Lolo provided education funds for a child that was not a minor. In 1983, Obama naturalized to become a U.S. Citizen.
That doesn't affect US citizenship.
