All good little communists, such as Stanley Ann and BHO Sr., studied Russian, especially in the big push to learn the language after Sputnik. I remember my own far-left parents discussing it.

Learning Russian could be a ticket to free advanced education in the USSR, as an option for BHO Sr., just as English got BHO Sr. to the US.
