Come 2014, you'll have to pay a tax if you're uninsured -- but how exactly it's going to work is still getting sorted out. The IRS isn't sure how many people they'll have to hire, or how much implementation will end up costing:

Thanks for the ping!
Only in name and the illusion.
And also to "iron fist"
Well alrighty then. I wasn't going to say it but since you're prompting me: This entire Government is a terrorist organiation, starting with it's leader in the White House, and continuing all the way through the State, County and Local levels where each part of this Government reaches freely into our pockets and consumes an unlimited amount of money under threat of taking our bank accounts, cars, homes, establishing lein's on our paychecks and ultimately threat of jail should we not comply with their ORDERS.
These rotten to the core BASTARDS believe we work for them.
Ok, you made me say it. Happy now? (Not that you had to twist my arm too hard ;-)
I have a terminal disease, I refused to ruin my family by going into deep debt seeking treatment. And no if this had happened during an Obamataxcare era I still would die because of my age.
So in the name of my forefathers, “Give me liberty, or give me death”
Bring it on IRS, don’t piss off an old veteran, they won’t fight fair in the least bit.
I think many of us here feel the same way. The only reason I posted is that I think too often the "messengers" take the heat that should be applied to the politicians who created the problem.
Our system that Lincoln said was "Of the people, by the people and for the people" has become anything but. The politicians see it as an "anger management" problem: divert the peasants with bread and circuses so they keep on producing tax money for our benefit, and don't become so angry they rise up with pitchforks and destroy us when they understand who's really pulling the puppet strings.
“The only reason I posted is that I think too often the “messengers” take the heat that should be applied to the politicians who created the problem.”
Of course, politicians should be “blamed”, but beyond that, have they been held to account? I know this is simplistic, but these politicians are voted into office time and time again by some of “us”.
My point? Unless they can show a record of voting the bad actors out of office, the American voters who keep these politicians in office have collectively created most of the problems we now face, and deserve to be called out.
The electorate took a step in the right direction during the 2010 elections, and we’ll see if that will continue in about 4 months. If Obama is reelected and/or liberal progressive Senators remain in power following the 2012 elections (as well as the state/local candidates), then “we the people” have failed to hold the bad actors to account...and the country will suffer the consequences once again.
And that's exactly my point. Voters must assign blame where it's deserved. I shake my head with wonder when I see a Congressman on TV ripping the IRS -- something I've seen it many times. Talk about hypocrisy and blame-shifting!
