This month cities all across the world are partaking in Gay Pride celebrations. Jed Kolko, the chief economist at Trulia, takes a look at the neighborhoods in the U.S. with the largest gay communities ("gayborhoods").
Using 2010 U.S. Census data, which lists 646,000 same-sex households, he calculated the neighborhoods with the largest percentage of same-sex male couples:

Most homosexual (female) city in America: Provincetown (Cape Cod) Massachusetts: 5.1% of households.
And yet the militants in the homosexual community will have us believe 10% of our entire nation is homosexual.
Instead of hatred, I suggest we look at this list of cities and pray for their repentance and for God to change their hearts to turn to Him. He *can* save their souls.
Just 0.3 percent of households nationwide are “gay” — that’s a statistic that needs to be widely publicized.
No matter what the left would like for us to feeeeeeeel, they are an aberration, not the norm.
I’ll bet those “neighborhoods” are also the AIDSest “neighborhoods” in America too.
And that is probably too high. I bet they listed my roommate and I as "same sex couples".
We're both straight.
Shared housing is simply cheaper.
But I bet the decor in the houses is “fabulous.”
balanced rooms are sooo fag sway.
So, why would a heterosexual man get married?

Leaving that aside, very few homosexual men get married - because it's hard for them to do so. Many choose not to have a 'steady' and move on from one relationship to another.
So, the numbers given are truly hard to calculate. I do not believe homosexuality is really much above 3-5%, and no where close to the percentage of homosexuality that rate that is promoted on TV. I find it interesting that the rate is in the 3-5% range, because that is the same range that birth defects are also found. I believe that homosexuality is a defect, physically, mentally, spiritually and morally.
Interesting - but I would think that people in your situation (same sex room-mate; cohabitating for financial reasons) would be a lot higher than 0.3%. I lived with room-mates for over a decade; and when I grew up, this was the norm for young adults between moving away from their parents until the room-mates got married.
Park Slope, NYC is very lesbian, and it’s a very nice place to live, too.

“PORTLAND, Ore. A man on parole for trying to infect children with HIV nearly 20 years ago pulled a boy into a Portland restaurant bathroom over the weekend, attempted to sexually assault him and then stabbed him several times, police said.”

When the Gay center of America only has 14 % gays in it, that shows just how few there really are. And how outsized is their influence.
But then math must be homophobic.
They’re not really looking at cities as a hole - just the zip codes.
Those are “committed couple” percentages.
Which explains why the West Village in New York City didn’t make the list.
My brother’s theory is red-brick. Whether that means gays are attracted to red brick or construct with it, he doesn’t say. Is Williamsburg on the list?
I'm guessing there's not a whole lot of tithing going on, either.
“Just 0.3 percent of households nationwide are gay thats a statistic that needs to be widely publicized.”
Yes, it does.
Oh no, I watch tv and movies, and I'd say 25-30% of the population is homosexual. Maybe more. (smirk)
“And lastly, a man need not get married to find a sex partner.”
How many married men feel cheated in that part of the marriage agreement?
It’s amazing how NYC stays off the gay lists. NYC has the largest homosexual population in America. The distributed percentage is less but they don’t spend their time distributed. You’ll never see such sheer numbers of gays in one spot than in NYC.
How does that mean homosexual?
The deviates from Portland, San Fransicko and elsewhere and the perverse lifestyle they live are being championed by major department store chains and corporations nationwide. When they go gay, we go away!
Where we grew up, Palm Springs, is #2 and #4.
Same-sex households are often just same-sex roommates.
I’m the parent of some of these young adults who share a roof and rent. As do many of their right-living, church-going single friends. Makes perfect sense.
Sounds like this study is based on flawed assumptions.
Northampton is a college town, with many students moving in and out. The semi-permanent population of people who stay longer than college students may be gayer than the numbers indicate, but of course a lot of the old-timers aren't lesbians.
Counting by zip codes can create problems. One of the commenters on the Atlantic site pointed out that Washington DC's gay neighborhood is split between three zip codes. Also, a lot of gay neighborhoods were formed by yuppies buying into depressed or immigrant neighborhoods, so a few blocks away in the same zip code you may find many very traditional families.
If the Castro District is 14.2 percent, I don't believe it. It's closer to 50%.
If the City of San Francisco is claimed to be 14.2% the number is exaggerated by a factor of 2.
I suspect that family households with one pervert in it, counts the entire family as gay.
I'm sure the "gay real estate agent" guy for the Dallas neighbor would know. Really, he lists himself as the GLBT agent with a relocation guide that goes overboard "gay" in the title of businesses with gay this and gay that and gay whatever further proving it's all about the desperate need for attention.
You can bet that if same sex roommates were counted, the numbers would easily be in the double digits, not a fraction of a single digit.
Drag a gerbil on a string thru San Francisco and see what kind of crowd you draw!
As these gay households tend toward monogamous relationships your reasoning skills are matched only by your wit.
There are also more Jews in NYC than in Isreal, your point is meaningless.
There are also more Jews in NYC than in Israel, your point is meaningless.
A male trying to mate with another male’s anal canal is insane. A female trying to mate with another female using a rubber appliance is insane. An adult trying to mate with a child is insane. It’s like Uncle Mike sitting at your dinner table trying to eat an ear of corn by shoving it in his ear and then telling you that’s his lifestyle. It may be, but it’s still insane behavior.
Mission San Francisco de Asís, built 1791
Or they are attracted to urban cores with lots of activity and catered to because they spend lots of money on activities and consumer goods, without adding kids to the school district.
“Where we grew up, Palm Springs, is #2 and #4.”
I grew up in Palm Springs myself. The place sure has changed.
How could they have left out Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C.? It is at least 50 percent gay.

I grew up in Palm Springs myself. The place sure has changed.
- - - - - -
It has changed, and not for the better. My mother in law grew up there as well, back when it still really was ‘the village’.
I’m a little surprised Minneapolis isn’t on the list...
NYC having 3 times as many homosexuals living in higher density than San Francisco is not entirely meaningless. The AIDS virus infects twice the percentage of New York gays than it does San Francisco gays. I lived in the SF Bay area for many years and never thought NYC was a gay mecca until my first visit. I was surprised at the density of gays in some areas. The home address percentages don't tell the whole story.
Lame definition of “neighborhood” - or he’s never been to Greenwich Village in NYC or Lincoln Park/Halsted Avenue (”Boystown”) neighborhood in Chicago.
This list is in no way accurate.
They totally overlooked Capitol Hill in Seattle.
AT LEAST 40-50% gay!
I’m not sure that Provincetown is the most lesbian city; that HAS to be Northhampton, MA, home of Smith College.
Provincetown, Massachusetts is only 5.1% homosexual???
That’s a little tough to believe...
Count on it. I would bet that there are the highest concentration of HIV clinics in these vicinities, too.
