Has anyone ever considered that SADO was not-only NOT living with SR, but in-fact was in hiding. Washington was safe for her. She had friends and family there. Her mother knew these friends and would help her through them. Her behavior is consistent with the advice counselors dealing with abusive marriages give today....Find a safe place, stay there until you can safely remove yourself legally from the relationship. Although she may not have been legally married to him she had to make certain she was legally divorced and she had legal custody of little Barry
Have had years of experience in the area of spousal abuse. The entire dysfunctional family certainly fits the pattern.
I think this is debatable. Witness info not independently verifiable. Susan Blake is not disinterested; and IIRC she changed what she said after "someone" talked to her. Mary Toutonghi may very well have been referring to "Anne 0bama" and not "Stanley Ann Duhnam", and the time was wrong for an Aug. 1961 DoB. Different name may mean and looks to me to mean, a different woman. David explains why he considers the WA transcript to be bogus. So there is no real (to my mind) evidence that SAD was in WA state at that time.
A listing in the Polk directory shows an entry for ANNA OBAMA. The babysitter said she baby-sat for ANNA when her own daughter, who was born in July 1959, was 18 months of age. Thus, the child she babysat would have been born around January 1961, if it was a newborn. However, the babysitter also said the child was seven months of age.I'll let you figure that one out.

One doesn't automatically follow the other, we have nothing to show they ever met, let alone MARRIED. The kenyan supposedly wrote the name of his 'wife' on his application for an extension to the INS, crossed it out, then wrote ANN S DUHAM. When was the name written on that document, who wrote it?

SAD has in fact, NEVER been placed in Hawaii at the same time as the kenyan. You have him sitting next to a young woman named Anne/USA at a social gethering, you have Neil Abercrombie saying he remembers Ann, you have a Polk listing for ANN S OBAMA at the birth announcement address...and an enrollment for FALL 1960, which probably relates to the STUDENT shown in the Polk living with the Dunhams.
STANLEY ANN DUNHAM IS FIRST SEEN IN HAWAII IN 1963, when she is shown holding a two year old child sitting on a fence. And not before.

The docs for divorce were lodged in January 1964, posted to the kenyan who signed them and returned them to her lawyer, according to the documents we have seen. The kenyan left Hawaii in June, 1962. He left Harvard and the US in August 1964. The divorce was finalized in March, 1964.

The only indication of any abuse to Stanley Ann Dunham has been through remarks made by a 'classmate' who reportedly stated that SAD and her father argued continuously. Thus, as we follow our trail of windmill chasing, we consider the possibility that Stanley Ann Dunham, at the age of 16, just as it says in 'Dreams' did take up the position of an au pair in Chicago, and possibly finished high school there (seeing we can't find her at Mercer) AND WASN'T SEEN IN HAWAII until she filed for the fantasy divorce from a man she never met and never married, and certainly never slept with. She was more likely to have been living with her uncle, who was Deputy Director of the Library at the University of Chicago from the time of his appointment after graduated from his studies thanks to the GI Bill until he retired AFTER zero was a lecturer at the university. Well connected, was Uncle Charles T Payne. They lived in Hyde Park and his wife was on a committee with the wife of David Axelrod.

Not too many Freepers would wish to purchase the David Maraniss book, titled Barack Obama (The Story). I have it and it certainly takes a dedicated reader to try to realize the import within it's pages.
I learn that Barack Obama Sr. had a father who was a notorious wife beater. Barack Obama Sr. was also a violently abusive man and using pages 208-209 I found out something not known generally. Ruth Baker had married him and bore his son in Kenya. Educated and of sheltered background in America, she was unprepared for his drunken beatings.
She fled to Boston with her one year old child in 1966. Her parents immediately accepted her and child. Three weeks later, Obama Sr shows up and "knocked on doors and called around until he found her". He begged her forgiveness and vowed never to abuse her again. She went back with him to Kenya. His drunken beatings continued. She finally divorced him.
True my account may not be appropriate to the general thread here, but I will chance that. I have not time to give the exact page reference, but elsewhere in the book, Obama tried the same tactic with Stanley Ann (according to Maraniss). This when he paid his quick visit to see a young Barry. He is supposed to have demanded that she return with him to Kenya with her son.
A lot more might be gleaned from this book, more than what the author bargained for. He has already castigated the "right wing" for making use of his information. I wonder if this wretched man, Obama Sr. ever abused Stanley Ann?. The quest for the truth continues here on Free Republic.
