Dr. Ben Carson, who has been chronicled in Ebony and Jet for at least two decades for his achievements as a neurosurgeon, including his successful 1987 surgery to separate siamese twins, is also opposed to Obamacare.
In an interview with Black Christian News, Carson previously said, The government is big enough and intrusive enough as it is. If you go back and read the ideals the Founders had, youll see they never intended for the government to grow so large. They said it is critical, if the United States is to maintain itself as a free and prosperous nation, that the people be well-informed and active in government. Were becoming a nation for, of, and by the government. As that continues, we become less of a can-do nation and more of a what can you do for me? nation.
Although Carson acknowledged that we spend too much for what we get in exchange in our healthcare system, he says that has to do with the inefficiencies in the system that can be corrected without Obamacare.

Wow! I totally forgot about Dr. Carson. I still remember our teacher reading us “Gifted Hands” back in elementary.
Too bad he wasnt at the forefront to prevent this thing from being passed.
Who speaks the truth
“If Congress can employ money indefinitely to the general welfare, and are the sole and supreme judges of the general welfare, they may take the care of religion into their own hands; they may appoint teachers in every State, county and parish and pay them out of their public treasury; they may take into their own hands the education of children, establishing in like manner schools throughout the Union; they may assume the provision of the poor; they may undertake the regulation of all roads other than post-roads; in short, every thing, from the highest object of state legislation down to the most minute object of police, would be thrown under the power of Congress. Were the power of Congress to be established in the latitude contended for, it would subvert the very foundations, and transmute the very nature of the limited Government established by the people of America.”
— James Madison, Letter to Edmund Pendleton, 1792
Thank you, Dr. Carson.
This country needs thousands more doctors to stand up and shout about how horrible Obamacare is for their patients.

I have admired this man for years.
Cuba Gooding did his character in a movie as well, which I was happy to see (quality instead of schlock)...
Glad to see this!
I am a registered nurse on a surgical unit. I am charged to care for up to 6 patients at a time as a staff nurse or up to 14 if I am working as charge nurse. If Obamacare is not repealed nurses will be caring for more patients, which is not good for patient safety. If the government does enact anything, how about a free yearly health checkup for preventative health. If we can prevent patients from developing heart disease or diabetes, we can prevent the costs of treating these diseases.
What would make the FFs sick is that the government of today is a billion times more intrusive and totalitarian than anything King George ever did. Can’t say I ever recall reading George having 10 gabillion government or “royal” regulations for every little thing that exists. “Oh your log cabin is not environmentally sound! 100 pound fine! The hay you feed you horses is not properly mixed with oats! 200 pound fine! You will buy insurance so the Doctor can bleed you or you will pay a fine, no a tax, no a fine, no a tax....”

Dr. Ben Carson has been a hero of mine for a long time. Many years ago my daughter had the misfortune of being a patient at the Johns Hopkins children’s hospital. Although I never met him I heard about him then; he consulted on her case. His personal story is fascinating. There is a biographical movie about him w/ Cuba Gooding Jr. But for my money his cameo appearance in âStuck on Youâ was very funny. The 11 or so people who got the joke had a good laugh.
Holy shiet, talk about seeing the future. Incredible; All the disease, poor nutrition, almost no health care - what was the lifespan back then? 50? 40? Yet those guys make todays politicians seem like eggplants in the IQ department.
There is no comparison between Ben Carson and today’s political life forms. He is truly a great man.
Heard him speak in Baltimore at a convention...wonderful man. I read his book Take The Risk...his philosophy works.
I’m proud of Dr. Carson and I’m proud of you, for speaking up. He may have a larger pulpit from which to speak, but you are important too.
Anyone else see these three words and think that Matt Smith was retiring?
Wonder if he’ll be getting a visit from the Black Panthers later?
