Don’t worry, if people get hungry enough, they’ll figure out the exceedlingly complex process of getting a passport, and finding a place to sleep when they get there. Thanks for the post. If nothing more it is a nice illustration of the jobs that should be available here.

But all this whining reminds me of Aesops fable about the fox and the grapes. Can’t get them,,so decides they are sour anyway.

Thanks. Little did I know there would be a thousand reasons why this shovel ready job is unacceptable. Of course it isn’t for everyone but there are some tough veterans that would be glad to seize the opportunity.
Jobs in paradise are few and far between.

I agree with you about "jobs should be available here anyway". It's like saying you can go fight for the country you love -- then, look for work elsewhere when you return. Meanwhile the fatcats send jobs off shore, invest in foreign companies and put their money in Swiss banks. Is anyone considering "quality of life" for these returning vets, many of whom have been separated from families for long periods of time?

With all my negative comments, I'd just like to say, I think it is a great gesture on the part of the Canadian government to be so considerate of the growing numbers of returning vets and their need for employment.
