Jobs! but NOT in AmeriKa...in Canada. The positions being offered are long term, with many paying as much as 30 percent more than similar industry positions in the United States. Some positions will require a move to Canada, but many others will allow veterans to commute working several weeks in Canada, then one week back home. This is a fantastic opportunity and Im proud of our affiliation with Vet-Jobs, said VFW National Commander Richard DeNoyer. Helping thousands of veterans to get well-paying jobs in an important industry just further proves that no one does more for veterans than the VFW. To apply, go to www.vetjobs.com, click on Search Jobs, then type opportunity awaits into the company search field.

Would this increase the job numbers for Obama even though
the jobs would be in Canada?

Hi Katie,
One of the issues of working in the frozen north is housing. In the south after Katrina, a large temporary workforce could live in mobile and makeshift housing. Where the temps fall to forty below on a cold winter night you need better housing. This is why North Dakota is also still looking for workers — no places for them to live in towns like Minot.

Once again I'll ask my questions...
Are those of us who served but didn't serve in combat be eligible since it's VFW or is this only reserved for its members?
Is this restricted to honorable service or are those who messed up and got a General, OTH or BC discharge welcome to apply?
Is the VFW going to help push the paperwork or help pay for getting a passport?
Do vets even need a passport to get hired to begin with?
Too many unknowns unreported in this article.

The pay is higher, but wait til they see the tax deductions. I imagine most of the jobs are in Alberta, so at least there are no sales taxes (unless that has changed).

You have to create them before you can export them.Obama does not create jobs. If he did he would have passed the Keystone pipeline. These are Canadian jobs at the source importing American workers.

Why not ask your questions of someone who will answer them for you philman_36? ?
Such as the VFW or the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation.
Are you looking for a job of this type?

Why not ask your questions of someone who will answer them for you philman_36? ?Why not have a more informative press release?
Are you looking for a job of this type?
What does that have to do with writing an informative press release?

Enquiring minds wanna know.Perhaps you first have to tell them some things about yourself so that they can see if you're "qualified" or not...if you know what I mean.
Sample Question 1. Are you a Republican or a Democrat?
Apolitical my backside.
Too cozy for my blood.

Canada; creating jobs America won’t.
To: philman_36
No, I really don’t “get” your (snow) drift.
Perhaps you are feeling the effects of blowing to much snow, for an actual drift to clearly form?

Would this increase the job numbers for Obama even though the jobs would be in Canada? Yes, these people would not be counted in the workforce numbers as well as freeing jobs for other unemployed. But, hey, the vets deserve all they can get. Someday America will have a leader that will allow these type of jobs here.
To: sarasmom
The VFW Says: This is a great opportunity for veterans, transitioning military, National Guard and reservists, and their family members, said Ted Daywalt, founder and CEO of VetJobs (www.vetjobs.com), a recognized industry leader in helping veterans find work.
Sounds like All Vets and Families.

I think that is fantastic and I am all for it. I just was wondering if Mr. Wonderful would take credit for these Vets getting the Keystone jobs even though he fought against it and in the end he will say he was for it. I am glad they are getting the jobs and I bet they will make great employees!!
