The jobs report for June shows another gloomy month in the US economy. Job growth amounted to a disappointing 80,000, below analyst expectations of 90-100K, while the jobless rate remained the same at 8.2%:

Update III: The AP article also reports that one-third of the job gain came from temp hires. That may or may not be a bad thing; temp hires usually presage some expansion, but that’s something you want to see more toward the beginning of a recovery than three years into it. At this stage, and with these low overall numbers, it looks a lot more like bet-hedging.

I’m not at all worried about the jobs market. I AM CERTAIN things will GREATLY improve by October.
That said, I expect the improvement to be only temporary, only lasting a month, at tops.
Don’t worry, by October MSNBC, CNN, and the NY Times will be reporting a 4% unemployment rate. Besides, this dismal report was—drumroll please—”unexpected.” And when all else fails, it’s still Bush’s fault!
Of course, temp in June could mean for June, July and August couldn’t it?

The Obama controlled media only wants to report the U3 number which is much lower than the 14.8% (up from 14.5%) U6 number.
The U6 number is a much better representation of the employment/unemployment picture.

Easy way to do this: fix our economy-inhibiting income tax code. The current income tax code is a HUGE factor in causing a massive flight of jobs, factories and even corporate headquarters out of the USA.

The temp hires are just that temporary. Businesses are trying to make money now while we have the lower tax rates and no 0-care. These jobs will be dumped just before the election and certainly after the election if the Kenyan wins.
