This part of town would seem to be a good place to have a CC permit.

An ambiguous report at best. Who is being called the victim here, the shooter or the dead guy? Would it matter if the dead guy did or did not have a CWP? It might if the shooter didn’t ... ( They were all stupid to be in that part of town anyway.)

Typical muddled Times-Union reporting.

I hope there was not a racial difference in skin color.....just ask Zimmerman.

seems to make a difference in law enforcement.

A man was killed this morning when one of two people he tried to rob at gunpoint drew their own gun and opened fire

Just don't know if I would have the 'nads to draw on someone who already had me cold like that.
I'm not slow - won my share of championships in combat pistol down through the years - but a Mozambique on an IPSC target is going to be much different than taking on a leveled weapon held by a living, breathing bad guy.

Another example of great gun control. The victim hit exactly where he was aiming—at the criminal. He saved the state of Florida a whole lot of money in lawyers, court costs, housing, food, clothing, entertainment, gym equipment, climate control, counseling and medical care to the criminal.

Congratulations on a job well done.

And to think that this is what the UN has in mind for America and that there are actually those in our government who agree with that opinion.

Cost effective crime prevention at it’s best.

Wonder if that jack-booted Nazi thug State Atty Angela Corey will try to railroad the self-defender like she is doing in my Seminole County w George Zimmerman. Jacksonville is Corey’s district

Good shot...but we need stronger Stand Your Ground laws to keep any self-defender from prosecution

He said the victim did have a permit to carry the firearm.

This is a statement we should never see in print or hear for that matter. No permit should be required to exercise your God given right to be armed. If we were all freely armed, then crime would be much lower.

How did we let our selves become the idiots we are today, allowing our freedoms to be sapped slowly but surely?

“CCW holders reduce crime. (Guns save lives)”

Uh, what are you talking about? This was a gun-related killing...well, that’s how the media and Democrats look at it.
