Contact Governor Nixon and Urge Him to Sign HB 1647 Into Law
House Bill 1647, which was passed by both chambers of the Missouri legislature last month and currently awaits Governor Jay Nixons (D) signature, has once again come under attack. The Missouri Press Association is working with Missouri Prosecuting Attorneys to undermine your rights by pushing for Governor Nixon to veto this common-sense Right to Carry legislation. Don't let the media and power-hungry prosecutors win this battle. If they do, HB 1647 will not become law, and law-abiding citizens and our active duty military will lose! Contact Governor Nixon today and urge him to sign HB 1647 into law.
HB 1647, authored by state Representative Jeanie Riddle (R-20) and shepherded through the Senate by state Senator Mike Kehoe (R-6), contains several important Right-to-Carry reforms. If enacted, this bill would lower the Right-to-Carry age for active duty military stationed in Missouri from 21 to 18, remove the penalty for accidental exposure of a concealed firearm by persons who have a right-to-carry permit, establish gun rights restoration for those who are currently prohibited from restoring their Second Amendment rights, and provide a relief-from-disabilities process allowing an individual to get his or her firearm rights restored. Additionally, this legislation would legalize auto-opening knife ownership.
It has been well established that the media and prosecutors often look for every opportunity to restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens, and this current situation is no different. By their efforts seeking a veto of HB 1647, opponents of this bill have made it clear that they do not believe 18-year-old active duty members of the military should be allowed the right to carry, even though these young men and women defend our lives and freedom every day.
Gov. Nixon has yet to sign HB 1647 into law, and is under constant pressure from the Missouri Press Association and Missouri Prosecuting Attorneys to veto this bill. It is important that Gov. Nixon hear from you and other supporters of the Second Amendment soon. Otherwise, he may veto HB 1647, and the hard work of many Missouri gun owners asking their legislators to pass pro-gun legislation this year will be for naught. Leg-Ribbon-Contact

The list please.
In 2003 the Missouri Legislature passed Concealed Carry. It was vetoed by the Dem Governor Bob Holden. In a Special Section his veto was overridden by the legislature.
Just before permits were about to start being issued a lawsuit was brought against the State of Missouri by St Louis & Kansas City politicians plus some religious leaders from those two cities.
It was the duty of the then Attorney General of Missouri, Jay Nixon to defend Carry Carry as passed by the legislature.
In October 2003, Nixon made the statement:
"I am against Concealed Carry, but as Attorney General I must defend the state in court".
“”I am against Concealed Carry, but as Attorney General I must defend the state in court”. “
Gov. Nixon had better take a real good look at the political landscape in Missouri. RATs there are on the endangered species list. McGastly will be gone in November. He just blasted Obamacare, so maybe he has.
