You are forgetting TEXAS. We were a sovereign Republic from 1836 to 1846. We did it once before; we can do it again.

Texas has been a minority-majority state for several years, and Hispanics are about to pass up whites as the largest population, probably within 5 years, if not sooner. Whites dropping below 50% of the state, and then dropping below Hispanics is happening far quicker than anybody imagined. Not to mention that far too many people from California, New England, and Florida have moved into Texas in the past 15 years or so. Do you really want to go down that road?

I don't think the Hispanics would try and reunify with Mexico or anything, but I doubt you would get the Republic you dream of, because in addition to all of the liberals and liberal Republicans that have moved into Texas in recent years, the Democrats have done a damn good job of catering to the Hispanics. Republicans would be in serious trouble within a few years if the Democrats weren't so incompetent, but eventually their numbers will win out. 2016 could easily be the last time a Republican Presidential candidate wins the state. Anybody who thinks the Democrats aren't drooling over the prospects for Texas to once again be Democratic is a fool, especially since the Democrats will be a lot more liberal this time around.

Try it this way: He works for rich people who want cheap workers and who have moved heaven and earth to have things their way. How 'bout that?

Look, if you shut down the jobs, Mexicans go home and stay home. You can't make employers offer work to U.S. citizens if they are determined not to do so, but you can stop them from screwing up the polity by importing hordes of aliens.

It's importation of peasant labor that is the problem, and you have a very short, arrestable list of people who are doing it. So do something about it. Throw Butts and Perry and Pilgrim in jail, and let them rot. Problem disappears.
