I don't agree with you.

The only people I have ever met who are defender's of Monarchy as an acceptable form of government are Palio-Conservative Catholics. They are a different lot, as opposed to the far leftist Catholics that inhabit the Liberation Theology sphere.

Talk about opposites.

The only cases of monarchs becoming tyrants is when their rule is absolute, that I can see, or if they themselves establish a one-party state (hence an oligarchy). None of the 20th Century’s worst tyrants have been monarchs.

BTW, there are many in Germany that wish for a return of their monarchy. Not all of them are Catholic.
