I don't agree with you.

The only people I have ever met who are defender's of Monarchy as an acceptable form of government are Palio-Conservative Catholics. They are a different lot, as opposed to the far leftist Catholics that inhabit the Liberation Theology sphere.

The only cases of monarchs becoming tyrants is when their rule is absolute, that I can see, or if they themselves establish a one-party state (hence an oligarchy). None of the 20^th Century’s worst tyrants have been monarchs.

BTW, there are many in Germany that wish for a return of their monarchy. Not all of them are Catholic.
