Bank robbers use their ill-gotten gains to support their children, who go to school with our children, play with our children, and committed no wrong. Thus, once caught, the bank robber's children should be allowed to keep the proceeds, and the parents shouldn't be punished, because it would be a hardship upon the children.

Same for drug dealers and con artists.

We might look at the status of those whom Obama is attempting to accommodate in this way:

Granted, in many cases, their parents, and not they, perpetrated the act that led to their current non-citizen status. Granting them the rights of citizens without having them go through a standard, lawful naturalization process is similar to allowing the recipients of stolen goods to retain such property and ignore the property’s underlying criminal origin. We don’t allow the buyer of stolen goods to keep them, even though said recipient may have paid good money for them. I don’t have any magic-bullet solution, but maybe this analogy can promote a better understanding why we feel that those Obama is pandering to should not simply be given the benefits of U.S. citizenship without regard to the legalities involved.
