Come on buddy....Just a few years prior to the housing collapse, Bush, the head of the Federal Government, was pushing for home loans for all....Making speeches for low income, totally unqualified people, making multiple attempts to streamline no down or little down payments for home loans etc.
This whole thing came down on his watch...No?
Ya think there is no correlation here, from the same guy that attempted to push amnesty down our throats.
In Bush’s own words:

It is amazing you and so many are willing to persist in this argument. It is a pro Obama and anti conservative argument.
Bush and his appointed officials made exactly your arguments from 2003 onward regarding housing.
But rather than admit that or worse still actually join them in advocating these arguments against the democrats you choose to join Obama and the democrats in saying bush did it.
It is why conservatives can’t win. Your arguments are Obama re election arguments. They are reasons Barney frank should not retire but return to the House reelection this fall.
Obama and the democrats receive some of their most key support here. Standing back in silent indifference might make some sort of sense but once alerted that conservatives such as bush did make these arguments conservatives ought to join in support of bush.
That is why reagan is great. Conservatives stuck with him DESPITE massive contradictory actions that undermined conservatives.
Examples are: Reagan did amnesty; Sandra day o Connor ; folding and withdrawing from Beirut.
The issue is the willingness to defend fellow conservatives.
Since you seem to like YouTube take 5 minutes to see a review of repeated bush administration arguments from 2003 onward seeking to prevent a housing collapse:
