There are more than 2 choices to a principled conservative unwilling to sell his/her soul for the sake of the Republican Party: a. Write in Sarah Palin b. Vote for Virgil Goode, an actual conservative.

As I see it, there are really four choices:
1. Vote for Barack Obama
2. Vote for Mitt Romney
3. Vote for someone else
4. Don't vote at all

Choices 3 and 4 are really the same, in that they do not result in a vote being cast for someone who has a chance of winning. I can see where someone would want to exercise option 4, like if you are in a car crash and end up in a coma, or you are trapped in a mudslide and it takes too long to dig you out. But I don't understand anyone who would choose option 3. If you're a conservative, and you actually do cast a vote, but you don't vote for Romney, you are allowing an Obama voter to cast one unopposed vote. You say you're a conservative but you're helping Obama to win. How does that make the slightest bit of sense? And by writing in a vote for Sarah Palin or George Washington or Barry Goldwater, you contribute to an overall list of votes that the vile lefties can make fun of later. "Look at those dumb Repugnicans, they voted for people who weren't even running for the office."

If you're going to vote for President but you're not going to vote for Romney, do us all a favor and stay home. A vanity vote is just a meaningless gesture that makes all of us look bad.

Thank you for posting such a meaningless post showing the lack of principle of many of those who are ABO to the exclusion of considering Mitt's record.

A record, mind you, that has been posted over and over here on FreeRepublic confirming for those of us that are not POP (Party over Principle) that a vote for an amoral man like Mitt Romney, is a wasted vote.

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"God commands you to choose for rulers, ‘just men who will rule in the fear of God." - Noah Webster (1758-1843) Father of the Dictionary & American Patriot

"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." - John Quincy Adams, (1767-1848) 6th President of the United States

"It is impossible to calculate the moral mischief, if I may so express it, that mental lying has produced in society. When a man has so far corrupted and prostituted the chastity of his mind, as to subscribe his professional belief to things he does not believe, he has prepared himself for the commission of every other crime." - Thomas Paine (1736-1809) Patriot, Author & Pamphleteer
