His father’s rhetorical Gettysburg was repeating Peggy Noonan’s ode to the New World Order—and to community organizers—by asking all of us to gaze in awe at “a thousand points of light.”
A lot of switch voters watched him gaze wide-eyed at a supermarket checkout bar code scanner in action, something most of us see every other day or so, and apparently decided that he must lead a sheltered life.
So they decided it would be prudent to give him more time for star-gazing.
