It is possible that he is diabetic and had a diabetic incident. My dad finally came to live with us after his 5th or 6th incident in the car. He would be found on the side of the road, stopped, and one time he pulled into a parking space and rolled up to and touched the wall of the building. He was unconscious and the car was still running. He also passed out sitting on a bench one time, and I was called to the hospital where they sent him.

Diabetics can be mistaken for being intoxicated, but it is a blood sugar issue.

It is quite true, what you say about diabetics. Of course he could’ve been intoxicated. We’ve grown to expect out-of controlabove the law behavior form this admin.

It could also be a seizure resulting form a lethal brain tumor. Remember the late Robert Novak, who had a clean driving record and inexplicably struck a pedestrian in DC. Turned out he had a seizure caused by the glioblastoma that eventually killed him. Right now Mr. Bryson might well beat the felony charge because he has a far worse problem than any felony prosecution.

Since he seemed to be in and then out of consciousness I’d guess these were trans-ischemic attacks (TIA’s) sometimes called mini-strokes.

Diabetes could be right, but it seems his consciousness would ‘waver’ and he would appear to the causal observer to be drunk... which we don’t have here?

It doesn’t look like any criminal charges are going to stick on this one.

12:22 AM-—If he knew he had a health issue wouldn’t you think he’d keep a more regular schedule? As commerce secty he probably qualifies for a driver. In any case being dopey doesn’t erase the hit-and-run.
