Very common first name these days in America, but unheard of in Africa.
I've read that the last couple of years in California that 30% of the first names given to Black infant females is shared by no-one else in the state for that year.
It's just our Euro-centric bias that causes us to think it's strange. Eh?

Turquorious is a common name in America? I have never heard of it.
