Exactly. We make war that we may live in peace. Aristotle said that. It’s no less true today than it was 2,000 years ago. And this isn’t even really a war yet. But we always, always, always have to be ready for it. We always have to be maneuvering for it.
BTW, I’m feeling really deprived reading all these comments. Why couldn’t I have been sent to the Philippines when I was in the Army? Sounds like it was really a sweet assignment.
