You aren't trying to sell a hypothetical with your BS, you are denying the facts of how we have already voted, twice, and I'm not the only one here who went back into the military, or reenlisted, or signed up for the first time, or worked on campaigns because we loved Reagan so much, and voting just wasn't enough, we wanted to be a part of his fight.
Romney despised Reagan, changed his registration during his campaign, and didn't vote for him.
So does this mean you are voting for Obama then? I can’t wait to see the tally of Obama voters come election day from Free Republic. Reagan was the President the candidate that I hated because I was told to do so as a young person... and came to love, because of he kept his promises and helped me to succeed by getting government out of my way. The primary is over. Yes, feelings were hurt (especially mine when Newt dropped out), blah, blah, blah. None of that is important right now. If we don’t get that Kenyan commie pig out of office, America will be destroyed. It’s that simple.
We’re on the edge of complete economic, political, and social disaster. The only way to prevent it is to send Obama to the C-SPAN lecture circuit four years early. If that means voting for Romney, it means voting for Romney. Is it a thought I cherish ? No, but I’d rather do that than watch the US become a failed, European-style social(ist) democracy.
Keep this in mind: It will be worlds easier to push Romney in the RIGHT (pun intended) direction than it will be to push Chairman Obama in the RIGHT direction. The GOP-E needs us a hell of lot more than the Dims do.
