I am convinced that Onyango wanted son and daughter-in-law to come to Kenya for a formal Muslim wedding. Because Stanley Ann was impregnated out of wedlock, her status was quite low. He wanted his son to continue his Muslim tradition with this second wife. He wanted to make sure this happened by having both Barack Sr and Stanley Ann to come to Kenya for the ceremony. A part of that ritual would be the circumcision of Stanley Ann, as a part of tradition. I am sure that when Stanley Ann discovered this was to happen, she backed out of the traditional ritual. I am sure that this became quite an embarrassment for Onyango who was known for his strict temperament. That’s when Onyango called off his blessing and sent Barack Sr and Stanley Ann on their way back. Part of the deal would be for Stanley Ann to stay away from Barack Sr. The taking of classes at the University of Washington would satisfy that requirement.
