Romney is taking things “off the table” and announces he intends to fight by gentlemen’s rules. Just as McCain did and Dole did, and Bush I, and Ford. I cannot believe he is simply stupid which is the other possible interpretation. I think he will take a fall just as the others did.

Romney is unprincipled enough to have surrogates and proxies do the dirty work.
