For McCain it’s easy, He was afraid if that item were public knowledge then he might win the election. McCain never did sound like he wanted to win. He just wanted to be the republican nominee. That seems to be some sort of Republican Syndrome. It afflicted Bush I and Dole and McCain and maybe Ford. Romney is showing signs of the malady.

Uhmmmm yes I have heard that before. Then you are also saying nominating Sarah would only assure that he would be defeated?

Am not discounting in total what you suggest. But it has to be much deeper than that.

I have also heard that Mclame wanted the campaign to be honorable and about issues. And I ain't buying that one either because as a Navy (military personnel) we all know character is everything.

McCain looked and sounded relieved in his concession speech. I’m sure he was also glad it was over too, but I never thought he wanted to win the way he campaigned.
