Call it J.C Penneys private flash crash.
The stock today plunged 19.7% to close at $26.57. Thats even worse than Black Monday 1987. On that day, the stock lost a hair less, 19.2%.
Its unclear if this is the stocks worst day ever. (Perhaps it suffered an even worse day during the 1930s.) However, it is clear that this is the worst single-day performance in the past 40 years. Thats as far back as our FactSet data goes.*

Handy euphemism for “fudge packer” lol.
Last year I got a new job and bought several hundred dollars of clothing from JCFaggy. I hope they appreciated my last dealing with them.
“Jim Cramer Tells Viewers to Buy Merck, J.C. Penney”
Jim Cramer and JC Penny were made for each other.
Speaking of JCPenney catalogs, check this out for a laugh

>>For the life of me I can’t understand these stores catering to such a small minority, esp when they must know it’s a slap in the face on the vast majority.
These people live in a Liberal bubble. We get the Liberal viewpoint because you can’t avoid it given the way the Legacy Media is structured. They, on the other hand, simply do not get a conservative viewpoint AT ALL, other than by accident, or when reality bites them in the butt, as here.
That's what those idiot MBAs never seem to understand - there's plenty of competitors out there and once you P.O. your customers, they're gonna find that they can do just as well elsewheere and NEVER come back.
This will translate to a another big hit on shopping malls across he country if JC Penny anchor tenants shut down.
Now that is interesting, I thought the couple on the R were grandmother mother and daughter and other granddaughter and daughter.
Does it actually say that they are lesbians?
To Whom it May Concern at J.C. Penney:
I saw that your May 2012 catalogue has a homosexual couple in it. It is your company and livelihood, and as such, is your choice to run as you wish. I neither agree with nor approve of your effort to normalize and legitimatize homosexuality. As such, I will not purchase any merchandise from your organization, and will recommend to family and friends who feel as I do, to refrain from doing business with you as well.
It may very well be that this is a calculated marketing decision, but that would be too generous, especially in view of the role Ellen Degeneres carries out for your company.
There are many people who feel that promoting homosexuality is harmful to the individual, to the family, and to society, and I am one of them. If you wish to promote homosexuality as a normal and healthy lifestyle, you will do so without my support or my money. I normally would not welcome the bankruptcy of a company that pays people to work for a living, but since I see your open and enthusiastic support of homosexuality as morally bankrupt, I can only have the point of view that your company should lose the financial means to assist in the cultural erosion of society. And I say that with regret, considering the many employees who surely work for you who feel as I do, but have to accept your advocacy as a condition of keeping their jobs.
“Partners” ... you do the math...
Sigh.
“...doesn’t mean that the public has to like it. “
Or give our money to those companies that do push it.

Seriously, I had a fun time in the Seventies, but there were three things that sucked immaculate about the Seventies:
1. The Clothes
2. The Hair
3. The Cars.
Other than those things, it was fun!
My thoughts are the same as yours.
Way to blow it in the ‘86 World Series,Buckner! :)
Same here.
Here is the script:
You’ll often find Wendi, her partner Maggie, and their daughters elbow deep in clay, paint, and mosaics. “Even as babies, the girls toddled around in diapers, covered in paint,” said Wendi. They come from a long line of artists, which includes Grandma Carolyn. Visiting her art studio in Granbury, Texas, is a favorite outing. And like any Grandma, this one loves to bake — pottery, that is.
Wendi with her Mom Carolyn, daughters Raven and Clover, and partner Maggie.
We now dub thee, “J.C. Pansy.”
They used to make pretty decent clothes for men at the moderate price range, now, the buttons fall off and the shoulder seams come apart after a few washings. I’m done with them, even before the sodomy sell-out.
I’ve got a late ‘60’s catalog, right before the cultural s-— hit the fan. The differences in styles and taste of that period compared to a few years later was utterly unbelievable.
They can take Ellen Degenerate and their lesbos and croak for all I care. I’m done with them.
Screw these sodomy-pushers. Ill never shop there again.
Lets see if they can make it on alternative-lifestyle business.
Couldn’t have said it better.
Good. They deserve it. However, absolutely NOT Ellen’s fault. Their ridiculous pricing did them in. NOT ELLEN’S FAULT. NOT ELLEN’S FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cancel mine six months ago I reading they going for this in some ET magazine I recently need new towels I been going to Annas linens here in SO CAL
You are in the “very small” minority.
Once they realize their stupid pricing is keeping shoppers away -— and change it — all will be forgiven.
Well he did used to work as vice president of merchandising for Target and worked at Mervyns.
There aren’t enough queers in the world to keep them out of bankruptcy!!!!
They are NOT going to change it. The old way was leading to bankruptcy. This is it. If it doesn’t work they won’t “go back” they will just go away.
(I’m referring to the pricing model not the gay stuff)
Just talked to a customer service operator about how my family will no longer be shopping at JC Penny due to the 2 homosexual moms featured in the catalog. I said that it must be more than me that is upset as their stock is diving.
Woman was very nice and said Were in the same boat, I agree with you.
Wow... interesting. Thanks for sharing that info, icwhatudo.
This is an old thread, but I thought your point was worth highlighting. I do agree there's a silent majority who are fed up by all of this sodomy pushing. I wonder how many billions of $ are being lost in the movie industry alone because people are no longer willing to spend money to watch gay propaganda? As far as JC Penney goes, it's not like we don't have any other shopping alternatives. Why oh why do these foolish CEOs feel the need to take the sodomite side in the ongoing culture war? Neutrality would be a better approach, and sticking with the silent, non-sodomite majority might very well be the best approach. There's money there just waiting to be made...
Glad to hear they are suffering the consequences. I was not even aware of their nonsense on this front, as I severed ties with them about 8 months ago when I realized that their credit card was through General Electric’s banking division.
I guess JCP is going for the fairy tail(pun intended), “Well, homosexuals and lesbians have more money” line of BS.
For the life of me I can’t understand these stores catering to such a small minority, esp when they must know it’s a slap in the face on the vast majority.
***
I think that their small sphere of personal experience is what gets such people in trouble. Most of the people in their social circles and most of their business associates are apparently pro-homosexualist, so they mistakenly think that the majority of the general public is the same.
< consequences >
< /sympathy >
Have you read post #67? It shows the copy that goes with the photos. No one can deny what JCP is pushing here.
If stores want to shove ‘liberal’ in my face, I shop elsewhere... Don’t these folks ever look at what’s happened to the MSM?
Funny. Heard a news story on Fox 13, local Tampa an hour ago. No mention of a catalog controversy at all, just a PC story about the stock drop.
I read the text after it was posted in #67. I wasn't able to read the tiny print in the picture posted.
It is baffling to me why personal text would be invented about clothing models anyway. The text I am interested in a JC Penney catalog is about the clothes, like this:
Blouse, short sleeve, no iron cotton/polyester blend, in red or blue, available in misses and junior sizes.
I am not interested in made up stories about the models wearing the clothes.
If this company is still around in a year, they can ram er put a flagship store in the Hillcrest area of San Diego.

BREAKING NEWS: Rainbow flag will fly high in Hillcrest (CA)

Very soon, San Diego’s LGBT community will see a colorful symbol of their pride flying high above the Hillcrest neighborhood.
Today, the City Council voted 7-0 to approve a proposal by the Hillcrest Business Association (HBA) to install a 65-foot flagpole in the median on Normal Street where it intersects with University Avenue.
Nicholas Moade, owner of Rich’s and a donor to the flag project, urged the City Council to pass Item 333. “This flag symbolized tolerance and diversity,” Moade said. “As long as LGBT youth are being bullied ... it is important to fly this flag as a beacon of hope.”
After the council voted, applause erupted in the room. Many community members left excited about the installation of the project, which is expected to be in place in time for the annual San Diego LGBT Pride celebration, taking place July 20-22.
That is sooooo ghey!
Almost all the linens in this household were bought at J C Penny.
I won’t be going back there.
Perhaps I can find some good buys online.
One word: CostCo.
The business lesson that Microsoft learned was that they had to be engaged politically in the areas that would have an impact on their business model.
This included bribing US officials that made policy. This was explained by more than one congress person personally. Gates’ response was both angry and explosive. Contributing to the campaigns of politicians as a way of being allowed to continue doing business didn’t sound like anything approaching ‘free enterprise’.
Being right, and being dead right are two different things. In many, if not most, companies overseas, you ‘engage politically’ or you don’t do business there. There’s a reason why Boeing built the 787 the way it did, and it wasn’t ‘good engineering practices’.
The way JCP, and Pepsi before them through the comments of the idiot Indra Nooyi, MAY LOOK like political engagement, but NOT for the fiduciary interests of their shareholders, but to use their office to promote ‘social justice’.
‘Social justice’ IS the new bolshevism. Whenever you hear it, it means, “We have to take rights from you in order to give it to people that ‘don’t have them’.”
The new catalog sucks any way, all photos, can barely see the HIGH prices. With the exception of Bras and some school T’s for the grand kids I don’t do much shopping there any way.
Ditto goes for most anchor stores, when they stopped carrying my age range clothes in favor of SLUT WEAR for every one but 80 year olds, I quit shopping them. It can rot on the shelf. My church dresses get worn 3 hrs a week, the rest of the time it’s T’s, jeans, and capri pants. No use looking for my shoe size, you have to go to Vegas for that, 5.5, because I don’t buy what I don’t try one for comfort and fit.
