They were being guarded by 2 of the most magnificent huge white dogs. Can’t remember the breed right now but I would not have gotten out of the car even to fix a flat near those dogs. :D

Kuvasz, by any chance? I've always wanted to get one of those but they sound like a handful to train.

Yes, something like that. The one in the picture looks well groomed compared to the dogs we saw. There was not a human (or a coyote) in sight and the dogs were on duty!
