Obama Announces Plans to Repeal Defense of Marriage Act

You spoke too soon, Rand Paul. It sounds like the President's views on marriage just got even gayer.

Somewhat buried in CNN's story on Barack Obama's fundraiser in New York is this little tidbit about his administration's plans for marriage equality—

He also outlined goals he hopes to accomplish under a second term, including the repeal of the Defense Of Marriage Act, which the administration has already stopped defending.

This is the first time Obama has said that he wil actively work to repeal the law.

At the fundraiser, hosted by openly gay pop star Ricky Martin, Obama called same-sex marriage the "right thing to do." He also said that contrary to what many rightwing pundits have alleged, marriage equality will help families.

Do you spam different threads with this reply? I have seen it before and remember agreeing but now it seems redundant and unoriginal. jmho

It looks that way. In the CBS/NY Times poll released tonight Romney is leading Obama among registered women voters by two points (46 - 44). That's an eight point switch from last month when Obama was up by six points among registered women voters (43- 49.)

The under 30 crowd has no issues with gay marriage (it’s like 80/20).

Once upon a time, public schools promoted shared American values with bible reading, prayers, and moralistic lessons of the sort found in the McGuffey Readers. Now they promote "tolerance" and "diversity" non-stop, even to the exclusion of reading, writing and arithmetic. Is it any wonder the kids come out stupid and amoral?

Yep. Obama is acting as if no matter what he does or says, he wins.

“Muslims would just kill homosexuals.”

Kill off the queers, but sheep buggery is okay?

I thought Obomba said he wasn’t going to make this “political” and that it was up to the STATES?

Anything to distract from his failures. And the media is all too happy to help him set the narrative.

I just hope that they started this spiel too soon as there is still a lot of time left before the election. If we can force the focus back on jobs and the economy, he will still go down in all his flaming glory.

Let him keep talking ..

I agree, B.

All the marxist agitprop notwithstanding, sodomy is repulsive to the vastness of normal America !

and that obammy now stands a bigger chance of losing his election....to whom? Romney? The Father of Homosexual Marriage? This is now a non-issue. I'll be surprised if Romney doesn't chime in with a "me too!"

I guess the only “up-side” to this is that it takes the buggers out of the gene pool. Hopefully.

He’s going all in when it comes to gay rights. I think he’s just going to end up getting screwed.

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

If you have to tell grown men that babies will not come out of their rectums, there is no hope for any rational discourse...

Well—there IS that............but for some reason mittens is a bit ahead in the polls. Maybe a lot of folks aren’t aware of his stand on gay marriage.

There’s actually not much difference between the two that I can see.......

Any way you slice it, I think we are ski-rued this go ‘round.

I think he despises gay people and is playing to their own perceived vulnerabilities.

I'm not so sure of that.

He has packed his administration with homosexuals.

It will come with special rights to the homos to dictate sexuality to the public. Finally, the feminazis will legally dominate our society (heterosexuals). If you want to know where they are headed first, look to California where parents are deemed criminal for resisting their children’s “choice” to be molested by homos.

Bambie had his lollie pop licked in a limo by a gay man. Of course he likes gays, as long as they serve him.

This is merely a freaky sideshow. Anticipate a steady diet of same thru October. Anything but his record. ABHR. We also see the FBI "looking into" bringing Zimmerman up on hate crime charges...maybe they will, maybe not, but another distraction and a bone thrown to the community.

What's he doing to foster the creation of private sector jobs, lower food and energy costs(and unburden the domestic o&g industry), balance the budget, root out fraud within govt prgms? Those are just a few of the issues every GOP candidate needs to be harping on. And yet, they'll probably fall into this phony debate trap and in this way the rats/media will drive the election agenda- and on their terms. s he doing to foster the creation of private sector jobs, lower food and energy costs(and unburden the domestic o
