Mandeville, LA Its an aspiring Olympic athlete and open carry in Virginia state parks, this week on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk® Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
With little more than two months to go until the Summer Olympics in London, there are athletes still battling it out for a spot in many sports. One such athlete is Kelsey Zauhar, currently in a three-way tie for second place in Womens Trap in which only one position will qualify to represent the U.S. at the 2012 Olympic Games. On Sunday, Zauhar visits Gun Talk to discuss her shooting career to date. Read about all of her accomplishments at http://www.usashooting.org/12-the-team/usashootingteam/nationalteam/nationalshotgunteam/kelseyzauhar.
Virginia Citizens Defense League President, Phillip Van Cleave, drops by to talk about the latest pro-Second Amendment developments in Virginia, including a change to the state code regarding open carry in the state parks. More on the VCDL can be found here: http://vcdl.org/. And go to http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/may/1/visitors-can-pack-heat-in-virginia-parks/ to read more about the changes in Virginia.

Pow!!
FReepmail to get On/Off The Gun Talk Radio Pinglist
Aren’t they going to have to bend some gun-ban rules to have a shooting competition in the UK for the Olympics?
I would imagine.
Actually I’m kinda shocked its still an internationally sanctioned event.
Tom speaks the truth,an airweight snubby is a bit of beast
My wife just got a S&W airweight .38 5 shot revolver. It has a surprising kick but I love it. Great for concealed carry!
Pizza Pow!!
They are great for Concealed carry, but Lord they kick!
I think the heavier S&W snubs shoot just fine. The sights leave something to be desired.
Winchester white box always works fine for me.
It’s the airweights that sting.
They just do.
I would run 110 grain hollow points in them to ease the pain
If you run 148 grain your hands gonna sting
Pizza? You got Pizza?
Papa Murphy’s take and bake. It’s awesome!!!
Which model?
642
It’s the middle one in post 15.
I have a 642. Like the simplicity. But it’s a handful.
I got the 360PD. At 12 ounces it’s a hand smacker too. But it’s SO NICE to carry.
Clipdraw makes it easy.

Never tried that
It is a handful.
Picked up the Solo CDP this week. Shot 100 rounds and not one hiccup.
Think I told you already but I got the SCAR 17 too. Couldn’t help myself. I need Gunoholics Anonymous....
Interesting. I’ve been carrying my Ruger P90 in a vest http://www.bluestonesafety.com/products/clothing/
It works well but the little airweight lives up to it’s name and is MUCH more comfortable to lug around, and the hammerless design makes for a very safe little piece.
I have the one in the middle.
It hurts,
No one likes it
Solo CDP?
¡Sí!
Bloody imposible to get.
I had a titanium .357 snubby that was just too painful to shoot more than a few rounds. I got rid of it.
Apparently Robar arms are whittling down Glocks
You invented that
I like this Ruger LC9
I like my CZ 82
Nice balance
Is the LC9 a little jumpy?
Nope. Its like butter for small large bore gun
Went back and forth between the Solo, LC9 and LCP. Solo was .7 oz lighter and it’s just so perdy! I think the LCP with laser will be the next investment, 9.9oz is just so tempting.
I cant afford that Kimber Solo
Yeah, there’s that. Even the ones without Crimson Trace are $750.
Have you ever shot with a laser? It’s pretty cool not having to look down the sights.
But boy it sure does show how shaky you are.
Man they just said Donald Duck Dunn died
I have a laser on a HK93 rifle, but I never use it
I’m sick and tired of our contemporaries dying.
Did you know the Solo is .5” shorter and .6” lower than the LC9? It’s tiny. I’ll
admit I had to put on my shooting glove after 50 rounds though.
Man it sucks that Donald "Duck" Dunn is gone
Recommended ammo for the lovely little S&W 38 SPCL: Hornady ‘Critical Defense’ cartridges [loaded with patented FTX bullet; 110 gr].
Less kick for you, with more damage on the receiving end. Excellent for 74-year old, 85 great-grannies such as myself. Mine is the model with a hammer - permits much easier trigger-squeeze.
Tom nails this.
NEVER fire
a warning shot
That would be 85 POUND great-grannies...
Yep. Damnable luck, too. I’d give up all kinds of things to get even 25 pounds - but not my weaponry! I’ll not part with those until the day they wrap me in an American flag for my cremation.
Gnight all, thanks to all who stopped bye.
Man I feel OLD!
Taurus has a tcp that in my opinion feels better to shoot ( I’ve owned both and sold the lcp. Smoother trigger pull with the Taurus and the weight/size are the same. When you buy hollow point I’d recommend hornady critical defense. The ramps on the small .380s are so small/steep that some of the more open hollow points (like federal hydrashok) can have trouble feeding.
