When was the last time Gov. Deval Patrick came down on the side of law-abiding, taxpaying citizens?
He used to be able to at least fake some minimal concern for working people hows that property tax cut he promised you back in 2006 working out?
But now Deval cant even be bothered pretending to care about anybody who doesnt have a rap sheet.
The feds his pal, Barack! force the Secure Communities program down his throat, and Deval immediately issues a stern warning not to the criminals, but to the police.
Dont you dare use this crackdown on violent illegal aliens, he tells cops, to gin up unnecessary fear in the so-called community the violent illegal-alien community.
Then his hand-picked hack gambling czar, lifelong coatholder Steve Crosby, conducts the traditional nationwide search and appoints one of Devals dear Harvard Law pals as interim director of the new casino commission. So what if the tubby paper-shuffler with the Billy Idol hair was accused but never charged in a 2007 sexual assault case involving a 15-year-old boy in Florida, after which he settled a civil lawsuit with the childs family?
After the usual outcry, he has to quit his new job. And what does Deval say?
I hope hell come back to the administration. Where he makes $120,777 a year.
Next theres the EBT program, rife with abuse. Deval stubbornly resists any reforms, dismissing every scandal as an anecdote. God forbid anyone stop drug dealers from doing whatever they please with our welfare money.
Then his Department of Public Health decides to ban ... bake sales, in the public schools. After all, theyre run by non-criminals, people with jobs. A much more serious problem for the state than EBT card fraud. Maybe undercover staties should start infiltrating booster clubs.
Busted yet again, Deval says, Nobodys interested in banning bake sales.
Every weekend, the state police are running roadblocks to catch drunken drivers. No particular problem with that, but when Devals hacks are lugged ... well, consider Ron Bell, his $97,500-a-year special assistant. Busted in Boston, Bell gets picked up on waivers by Devals pal, Mayor Willie Lantigua.
And Friday, illegal alien tosspot Uncle Omar is reissued his drivers license, which he has absolutely no right to have. But then, how can you discriminate against the presidents boozy uncle if you dont take away the lieutenant governors license after he wrecks his state car while going 108 mph at 5:20 in the morning?
And incidentally, the public has no right to Crash Murrays cellphone records to see who he was calling or texting at that un-Godly hour. Cant have citizens finding out whether an uber-hack was breaking the law or maybe even organizing a bake sale.
Friday, somebody faxed me a letter from the ABCC chairman RE: EBT CARDS MAY NOT BE USED AS PAYMENT FOR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.
I was shocked by the letters mean-spirited tone. How dare anyone in state government tell illegals they cant use their handouts to buy booze? Somebodys got some splainin to do here.
Then I realized, the ABCC chairman works not for Deval, but for the state treasurer, Steve Grossman. Who does this Grossman think he is, a taxpayer?
Somewhere, Gov. Patrick is steaming. Probably somewhere out of state.

I love Howie. I started listening to him probably 5 or 6 years ago after I heard “Literally, you’re a great American, bold colors, not pale pastels” one too many times.
I remember when Howie was one of the “Three Governors”, (Dukasis’ characterization of Jerry Williams, Howie and Barbara Anderson, when Jerry had Barbra and Howie as guests on his radio show. The threesome adopted the name, with relish.) Howie didn’t have his own show at the time, but he (and Barbara) were the highlight of Jerry’s show. This started before Dukasis was the “next President of the United States”, so it must have been the late 1980’s.
The owner of the station sent out bingo cards in the mail, asking about listener preferences on WRKO and WHDH. I wrote in Howie in the comment block on both cards, saying they should give him his own show and mailed them back. They listened to me, because Howie soon replaced Jerry, much to Jerry’s consternation.
Ah....
btw due to the Celtics bumping the Sox to RKO, RKO bails out of Howie at 6:30 pm tonight and also Wed & Fri night. WCRN
830 might have the rest of Howie, not sure. This is because the Celtics are on WEEI 93.7/850...You might ask why don’t they have the C’s on 93.7 and put the Sox on 850? It has to do with ratings. They have 93.7 and 850 as 100 per cent simulcast and the ratings of both combine as one. So in cases like this WRKO picks up one broadcast—and since the C’s are in the playoffs they get first priority on WEEI
(at least as of this round).
Perhaps as of next year Howie will be on a station that doesn’t have this problem. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!
(Howie’s contract ends in Sept or Nov... Mark Schynder of Boston Radio Watch thinks Howie may go to 96.9. He tweets:
“If Entercom loses Howie Carr this summer it’s pretty much game set match for 680. Might as well sell off both AM’s ...He still has one big fat contract left in him which makies me think he winds up in AM drive on FM(96.9)”
WCRN normally carries the Sox, regardless.
The original intent was that WCRN wouldn’t have to carry the pregame show but maybe they do now, I don’t know. Howie says during the earlier-sunset times of the year people can tune to WCRN (or WXTK) to hear the rest of the show; and during those times when RKO goes to Sox or C’s pregame, supposedly
WCRN would be your way to catch Howie’s last half hour or so.
I was at work last night post 6 pm and wasn’t quite able to pick up WCRN so I don’t know if they forgo the pregame
show or not.
But yes listeners can get screwed and if Howie goes elsewhere we won’t have that problem. Ultimately he would go to either 96.9 or 1200 (I can’t picture WBZ carrying him,
esp. since they’re all news in am and pm drive) or stay at
WRKO if they offer best salary. 96.9 would welcome him.
I don’t know if Howie has to accept an offer from WRKO
if they tender him one; maybe he has to wait till the
contract expires (Sept.? Nov.?) and then he can become a free agent. We’ll have to see.
(Grand)mother of all lies stumps the Globe
By Howie Carr | Wednesday, May 16, 2012 |

The Globe has finally come clean. The cover-up has crumbled. The New England Historic Genealogical Society threw in the towel a few hours later.
Now its Granny Warrens turn. She needs to cop a plea to being a fake Indian, because its way beyond a reasonable doubt.
Unless, of course, she wants to stick with her very believable story about her pappaw having high cheekbones like all the Indians do.
And then of course theres that other incontrovertible piece of evidence linking her to the Cherokee Nation the fact that her first cousin from Muskogee edited the famous Indian cookbook, Pow Wow Chow.
Grannys hagiographers had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the truth about their heroine, but finally the tangled web they weaved when first they practiced to deceive came apart like the Seventh Cavalry at the Little Big Horn.
The problem, of course, is that as somebody once said, a lie goes around the world in the morning while the truth is still putting its pants on.
For two weeks, all of the limousine liberals and assorted pablum pukers in the lamestream media had a hook to hang their Big Lie on the yarn from the Genealogical Society saying Granny was 1/32nd Cherokee.
Now the Society is saying, hey, hold on, we just went with what was in the family newsletter.
After all, it dates back to the dim past ... all the way back to 2006.
As late as Monday morning, Granny was still using the Societys fable as her shield, brazenly telling CNN, Im proud of my Native American heritage.
Nobody on CNN is going to question a reputed minority who brags that she supplied the intellectual foundations of the Occupy movement. Not if they know whats good for them.
Now the Globe informs us, days after the truth emerged on Breitbart.com, that the document, alluded to in a family newsletter found by the New England Historic Genealogical Society, was an application for a marriage license, not the license itself.
Neither the society nor the Globe has seen the primary document, whose existence has not been proven.
Its going to be difficult to prove the existence of that primary document, considering that the Logan County, Okla., clerk told the Heralds Hillary Chabot on Monday that there was no such marriage application in 1894.
Chabot broke the original story 21⁄2 weeks ago and has stayed on it ever since. Meanwhile the Globe kept looking the other way. Nothing to see here folks, move along ...
But what would you expect? Everyone knows, bow-tied bumkissers speak with forked tongue.

Howie has got to keep pushing this....until the buffalos come home...
Fortunately for me, WHYN 560 (Springfield, MA) doesn't run the Red Sox anymore, so we get to hear Howie's entire show.
If Howie leaves WRKO, do you think his shows on the syndicated stations (like WHYN) will stay the same?
I'm loving Howie's endless jokes about Granny Warren, btw! The Chump Line was hysterical today, lol.
The story is that the Boston Phoenix’s alternative rock
station WFNX FM 101.7 is being sold to Clear Channel
which owns WXKS AM 1200 (Jeff Katz, Rush, Beck, Jay
Severin, Hannity). Rumors of format change include
Spanish talk, adult contemporary, and even conservative
talk (i.e. a new FM home for 1200). He probably could wind up at 96.9 FM Talk, which is owned by Greater Media, or possibly at AM 1200 (or possibly FM 101.7 if it goes that way).
Supposedly a former radio exec Bruce Mittman is predicting
(predicting, not sure!) that the 1200 talk to 101.7 could happen. Again, a prediction, not true yet. (The sale has
to be approved by the FCC which can take a few weeks or
a couple months.)
Howie has said if he does leave the affiliate stations
will still run him. Fear not. His contract is prob.
up at end of Sept.
Yes a funny chump line today!
Thanks for the info... I knew if anyone would be "tuned in", it would be you, FRiend! (Sorry 'bout that bad joke, lol)
Will Howie continue to stay on radio after his contract is up this year? Although that may sound like a stupid question, sometimes Howie's on-air comments lead me to believe he'd like to pack it in and retire to Florida ASAP. I hope not...
I think he’ll stay in radio, yes. I think he’d like to maybe move to Florida and do the show from there like Rush does with “the Southern Command”!
Granny Warren for WHAT?

You can almost feel sorry for the moonbat community of Massachusetts as they contemplate the rubble of the Elizabeth Warren campaign.
They thought they were putting up a modern-day Joan of Arc.
Instead, it turns out theyve found the Rosie Ruiz of politics.
Of course theyre conceding nothing any day now, the Globe will be publishing an editorial exhorting the voters to elect her as the first female Native American member of the U.S. Senate.
But arent the rich Trustafarians who want to pretend theres no story here the very same liberals who supposedly believe so fervently in affirmative action? Remember the outrage over that kid from Delaware who faked his academic credentials to get into Harvard? The pointy-heads who cant park a bicycle straight were so outraged they had him thrown into the Billerica House of Correction. Yet when some Mexican illegal did the same thing, the Politically Correct had demonstrations for him in Harvard Yard.
I understand the new reality. White American bad, illegal alien good. But dammit, Granny Warren isnt a Mexican, although she does have a recipe for Mexican oatmeal soup, which I guess by her standards makes her at least 1/32nd Mexican.
The Beautiful People call illegal aliens undocumented workers. Granny Warren is an undocumented Indian.
A few nights ago, a local Republican appeared on TV with a Democrat to discuss the Warren scandal. The GOP pol asked the obvious question, What would happen to a Republican who did this?
To which the Democrat responded, But shes not a Republican.
Exactly. Remember the pre-2009 chant: Bush lied, people died.
Now it is, or should be: Granny lied, and got a set-aside.
The moonbats always bristle when its suggested that sometimes the racial spoils system results in harder-working, more qualified individuals being passed over for jobs. The elites invariably dismiss this argument as racism. Yet now, whenever Grannys campaign is asked whether she played the race card to get her career off the launching pad, they huffily say, She worked hard.
So it couldnt have been affirmative action because ... she worked hard? Exactly how is that different from what Republicans say? Oh yeah, I forgot, shes a Democrat.
Still, this is great fun, watching Harvard, the Democrats and the insufferably smug pseudo-squaw twisting slowly, slowly in the wind.
And the jokes somebody on the Internet yesterday asked whether she had a recipe for a dessert. You know, like, Occu-pie.
And Macaroni and Cochise.

When I was in grad school, one Christmas break I got a little job (for extra money) for the English department, going through all the faculty applications for the year and counting by white or various minorities, a count demanded by the feds. This would have been late 70s or very early 80s. At the time it was illegal to ask for race, so there was a certain amount of guesswork, but the feds were tracking the numbers for applicants and hires. Maybe someone (the federal agency that requires the count?) should look into how Harvard (not to mention UPenn) tracked these things.
good point maryz!
And now a blog post I did on BostonRadio blog:
Howie Carr’s contract should be up by late Sept. and he keeps hinting he’d like to go elsewhere. He says howiecarr.us will be his way of letting people know where he’s going, if he does.
I don’t know if he’ll stay at RKO (forced to? or will they offer him the best deal, despite his dissatisfaction?) or go to WTKK 96.9 or WXKS 1200, but the recent sale of WFNX 101.7 to Clear Channel was mentioned by him on air...another sign that maybe, maybe he could be going elsewhere. After all, if Clear Channel, owner of WXKS (AM) were to simulcast it on FM, boom, new employer, and FM! (As is WTKK of course)
But it’s not a given. Many think WFNX will become a Spanish language station. It reaches the immediate Boston area (big Latino population) but not so much the suburbs where right-leaning listeners live. Clear Channel hinted at it (but they may be funnin’ us) on the Talk 1200 Facebook: “Like us if you have 101.7 reasons to listen to Talk 1200! Stay tuned!” A clue? Or maybe not. But, intriguing to think about.
Clear Channel used to run liberal talk on 1200 (and 1430) but both went Spanish. Then they did some improvements to the 1200 signal—a long awaited upgrade to 50,000 watts and a move to Newton from Framingham, with 1200 going conservative talk in March of 2010—but the signal is directional especially at night and not everyone can pick it up, even now. Adding 101.7 (or changing to it) might help, but they’d lose quite a few areas, too.
So if 101.7 does become an FM home for Talk 1200, might Howie head there? Could be....or WTKK...or staying at WRKO.
One thing’s for sure: It won’t be CBS. I can’t picture the “illegal horn” on WBZ.
http://raccoonradio.freehostia.com/Air/illegalhorn.mp3
(that link isn’t on the blog)
Wouldn’t it be great to go ‘back-to-the-future’ and have real Talk back on WBZ! I grew up with that channel - now I just hit it on the 3’s for traffic reports when I’m out that way or when traveling rural VT and want to listen to traffic reports and giggle while I look at miles and miles of Trees.
WBZ’s signal is awesome too - can get it out in Albany, NY during the day.
I just hope wherever Howie goes it doesn’t hurt the other terrestrial channels like WCRN and WHYN - I bounce back and forth between those to hear him depending on where I am.
Yes...I’d bet even if WBZ would sign Howie (prob no chance—no room for him and they want news during the day)
no way in hell would they allow stuff like the illegal horn.
The sponsors, etc would be pissed off....
It seems that at least two of her special recipes passed down through the Five Tribes families are identical to ones from The New York Times that were printed in 1979.
And theyre not just from any eatery either the recipes came from Le Pavillon, the fabulous French restaurant that dominated le haute cuisine in Manhattan from 1941 to 1966.
Amazing, too, that Grannys recipes for Crab With Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing, and Cold Omelets With Crab Meat, while no doubt popular along the Trail of Tears, were likewise tres populaire with Le Pavillons Beaut-iful People clientele.
As Pierre Franey, the Pavillon chef and original author of the recipes put it, The dish was a great favorite of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and Cole Porter.
Cole Porter was an Indian? Who knew?
Grannys 1984 Crab With Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing is a word-for-word recreation of Franeys 1979 recipe. And I do mean, word for word.
As for Cold Omelets With Crab Meat, its more of the same.
Franey: Use a small omelet pan or, preferably, a seven-inch Teflon pan.
Warren: Use a small omelet pan or, preferably, a seven-inch Teflon pan.
Franey: Heat about one-half teaspoon butter in the pan.
Warren: Heat about one-half teaspoon butter in the pan.
A call to the Warren campaign seeking comment on the uncanny similarities between the two recipes was not returned.
There are also some questions about a third recipe, Herbed Tomatoes. That one includes a seldom-used phrase, Add tomatoes cored-side down.
We Googled that phrase and came upon part of a 1959 recipe from Better Homes & Gardens. By press time, we hadnt found the actual recipe.
So lets review. First she was an Indian, then she wasnt. First she was poor in her childhood, then she became middle-class. Shes not rich, but she is worth up to $14.6 million, and her wigwam is assessed at $1.7 million.
Meanwhile, it appears Granny must have known that this fake-Indian cloud was hanging over her. On the page describing her induction last year into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, it says, She proudly tells everyone ... she is an Okie to my toes. ... Being an Okie keeps me grounded.
Im going to have to refer this question to Merle Haggard, who wrote Okie from Muskogee. Do real Okies like cold omelets, Merle? Do real Okies lift recipes calling for cognac from hoity-toity French restaurants in New York?
No? Well, la-de-da Harvard professors do.
