There is a big Tea Party Express rally for Paul in Austin this week end. If I thought I could get away with it I post an article about it. But I have seen to many banned for doing stuff like that so I am not going to risk it. It is ok to be a Paul supporter here as long as you don’t make to much noise. I think I got a slight pass since Paul is my congressman, I know he is a little nuts and has some crazy ideas but hey no one is perfect and he is very good on spending.

I think this is the one Cruz and Rand are going to be at, but I'm not sure.

I know that there is a thousand local chapters of "Tea Parties" all over the county and no real central organization. And I understand this (bleep) is in Austin, Texas - hippie liberal capital of the USA.

But - this is a deal breaker for me. If the Tea Party wishes to associate with ass-clown Ron Paul - then to hell with them.

I've not been a Paul supporter. I've wanted to support Palin since I first heard her speak the day McCain introduced her. But I have some questions to anyone here who would be willing to coolly answer them.

First a statement: from what I've learned, Ron Paul is first one who supports the Constitution as it was written. He has developed, sponsored and convinced many of a number of opinions regarding our fiscal house and how to get it in order. He has a voting record unparalleled in terms of supporting the Constitution. He is Pro-Life, and as a physician, understands the problems confronting the health system and knows how to solve them. He served in the armed services. He appeals to all kinds of political forces.

So my first question is, why aren't we Freepers supporting him? I understand his foreign policy seems a bit odd. But even George Washington cautioned against getting involved with foreign wars. Some think he's anti-mililtary, but he's not. His record shows that he's anti-waste in military spending and military use.

Question 2: If Freepers can consider supporting Romney, how can we not consider supporting Dr. Paul?

I hope someone will answer these questions without putting me down as a flake. I'm not. I simply don't understand what seems to me to be a lack of logic in the thrust and content of this thread. Thanks.

The way I read Jim’s message, he has seen the light and as long as one is not promoting Demobulbs, it’s full speed ahead.

Interesting to hear that Paul is your Congressmen. I view him as over the top but one smart guy. I especially like his view of troops bases all over the world - pull them out and station them here - spend the money here. We can readily travel practically anywhere on short notice and having bases everywhere is a huge waste of money.

Paul has already stated he does not want the Presidency, rather he wants to be heard and why he’s been running.

” - - - There is a big Tea Party Express rally for Paul in Austin this week end.”

Here is some food for thought to munch on:

Could it be that a REAL Republican is preparing to be a Presidential Primary Candidate in 2016?

2016 will be to late, so we need to draft him/her in August, 2012.

We need to draft this REAL Republican in 2012 and avoid the sorry Romney years if Romney wins!

IMHO, Romney will loose by a hair to Obama which will require that Obama be immediately IMPEACHED in order to save our Republic.

Obama or Obamalite, the US Federal Government will not have it’s, and therefore our, financial house in order by 2016.

Thus, political resolution of the main problem: OVERSPENDING BY THE US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, may not be achievable in 2016.

Hence, it is IMPERATIVE that we have an OPEN Convention in Tampa so that a REAL Republican can be drafted, albeit kicking and screaming, to be the Republican Party Nominee for the Office of the President of the United States of America.

I propose that voting for Ron Paul as a Primary wedge Candidate against Romney would lead to an Open Convention in Tampa.

Since Ron Paul cannot win the Nomination, he would just serve as our last best wedge hope of defeating Romney AND the GOP-E in an Open Convention.

Primary Candidate Ron Paul is the last non-Romney Candidate left standing between the GOP-E’s Romney, (= probable loss to Obama in November), and an Open Convention of a Republican that can soundly defeat Obama.

A “win” over Obama is not enough, Obama MUST lose in a LANDSLIDE!!!!!!

NONE of the Primary Candidates have shown that they have that potential.

It is time for an Open Convention to choose the best Presidential Candidate.

It is time for us Conservatives to turn out in massive numbers in the remaining primaries, especially in the big electoral delegate states such as Texas and California, and vote for ANYBODY BUT ROMNEY!

Ron Paul needs only to win one more State Primary to qualify as a Republican Nominee Candidate, and therefore is our best chance for Open Convention delegates to select a GREAT Nominee.

What say all of you?
