I think Romney’s best hope is that lots of liberals vote for him. His primary wins came in Obama strongholds so let him continue to count on their support. He made it clear he didn’t want mine.

He's counting on it. And frighteningly, there are enough disaffected socialists out there who think that Obama hasn't been liberal enough that Romney could conceivably get a big number of their votes. And I think many of them are well aware of the damage Mitt Romney can do to the GOP--they like the sound of that very much.

The fact that Jimmy Carter spoke highly of Romney should set off the alarm siren for perceptive conservatives. Romney's candidacy is not just about winning the presidency--it's about destroying the Republican party as a vehicle for conservatism.
